Patterson Hood at The Bell House - 7/23/12 (via Rob Haining)
Patterson Hood

As mentioned, Drive by Trucker Patterson Hood is releasing a new album, Heat Lightning Rumbles in the Distance, on September 11 via ATO and that he's got some shows scheduled this summer, including one with his band The Downtown Rumblers that just went down in NYC this past Monday (7/23) at The Bell House. At that show, he played mostly material off of the new album, but also threw in some older cuts from his solo career and some DBT material as well. You can listen to the entire show over at NYC Taper and check out some videos from it below.

When we last posted, only a few shows were scheduled, but Patterson Hood and The Downtown Rumblers have since announced a full tour in support of the album which brings Patterson and his band back to NYC for a show on September 17 at Bowery Ballroom. All dates on the tour, except ACL Festival, will be supported by Hope For Agoldensummer. Tickets for the NYC show go on sale Saturday (7/28) at noon.

A list of all dates and videos are below.

He didn't play any Truckers songs. Wah, wah.

Everybody Needs Love is a cover that appeared on a truckers album, but that's about it.
