Richard Lloyd in 2009 (more by Benjamin Lozovsky)

Back on June 12th, this message was posted to the Richard Lloyd Facebook Fan page:
I regret to inform you that the Richard Lloyd and Grand Strand June 2012 Tour has been cancelled. Richard's health has declined over the past week and on June 11 he was admitted to the hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Again I am sorry for the cancellation.On June 17th there was this:Team Lloyd
Thank you all for your kind get well wishes for Richard. Richard is still in the hospital but is feeling & looking much better. I've relayed all of your messages and he is very touched. Thanks again.We've since noticed, and as a commenter pointed out Tuesday in our punk roundup, that Richard seems to be removed from the CBGB Festival show he was scheduled to play at Bowery Electric tonight (7/5). Patrick Flannary confirms that "Richard Lloyd cancels Bowery Electric show due to health. Cheetah Chrome to headline, 12:30 am". Get well soon Richard!

saw him at ottos shrunken head and in london...horrible vocals but goddamn, what an amazing guitar player.

Richard was just named one of the greatest guitar players of all time by SPIN Magazine. Hope he feels better soon. He is a legend.
