Screaming Females at Warehouse Motor Club - 6/29/12
Screaming Females

Screaming Females, who were supposed to play NYC last month for Northside Festival, but had to cancel much of their tour due to illness, played their first NYC area show since then this past weekend. They played Warehouse Motor Club in their home state of New Jersey on Friday (6/29) with Night Birds (who played NYC last week), Terrible Feelings (who played NYC on Saturday), Smart Cops, and Artificial Limbs. Pictures from that show are in this post.

Screaming Females have other upcoming shows in NYC and NJ, including C.L.I.T. Fest (7/13-15) in Highland Park, NJ and Riot Fest Brooklyn (9/8) in Williamsburg Park.

More pics from the Warehouse Motor Club show are below.

Screaming Females and that band Titus Andronicus need to a do a co-headlining show around the tri-state area sometime soon. Those two bands NEVER play here!

I don't know this band Screaming Females, but I had a "screaming female" situation the other night, let me explain...

So there I was at Trader Joe's doing my weekly grocery shopping. It was a weeknight and nearing closing time. I only had one final item on my shopping list: hummus. I strolled over to the display shelf and to my surprise there was only one container of the tan stuff left on the shelf! I quickly reached for it, but just as I did another hand reached too. A small, delicate, feminine hand. I stopped for a second, love-struck by the female this hand was attached to. But I soon realized she was not stopping...our love was not to be. When I grabbed that container of hummus right out from under her, you guessed it, that female started screaming!

10:51 and 11:45 - you describe a situation that most of the rest of the country would love to have. Throw me in that briar patch!

these pictures really capture how shitty that venue was. Worst vibes at a show ever. Literally ever. It felt like they were playing a chaperoned VFW hall. The bathroom sign that said "NO GRAFFITI, WE ARE WATCHING YOU" pretty much summed it up.

also the antiquated "NO SLAM DANCING, NO STAGE DIVING, NO SPIKES" signs were heavily LOL worthy.

Warehouse Motor Club is where punk went to die

NO SLAM DANCING
NO STAGE DIVING
NO SPIKES

is a City Gardens reference

"Where punk went to die" but doesn't get a NJ punk reference...oof.
Pretty sure the bathroom sign is also not exactly serious...
