Sigur Ros in Philly last Sunday (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)
Sigur Ros

Sigur Ros are back this year with a new album, Valtari, and their first US tour in four years, which kicked off in Philly over the weekend. Pictures and the setlist from that show are HERE. That tour brings the band to NYC tonight (7/31) for a sold out show at Prospect Park, which like the Philly show, Perfume Genius will open. If you weren't able to get tickets for tonight's show, NPR will be streaming it live and you can watch from the comfort of your own home.

NPR also streamed Hot Chip's recent show at Prospect Park. If you missed that stream, it's since been archived and you can check out HERE.

Sigur Ros are also continuing their Mystery Film Experiment. The last video in that series to come out was the MFE version of "Eg Anda," earlier this month, and they just revealed a new one today (7/31) for their song "Varuo." The next video will premiere on August 13. You can watch those two recent ones below.

In related news, Alcest is working on his new LP in Sigur Ros' studio with Birgir Jón Birgisson (aka Biggi), who produces Sigur Ros' albums as well.

Videos are below.

set list times for tonight ?

Lol, at first I thought it said that Alcest produces the albums of Sigur Ros.

11:18, I'm gonna go ahead and estimate that Sigur Ros go on at around 8-8:30.

Well if the NPR stream starts at 8:30 I imagine Sigur Ros does too...

Prediction for show:

Slow building riff - repeat 3-400 times getting a little louder each time. Add some notes/tones & made up language sporadically.

Repeat

Light show

Gtr will be played with a bow at some pt.

Saved you $50!

^ Thanks! Really.

And now, for every metal show on the evillive posts:

way-too-loud bass drums and amorphus guitar "riffing"
repeat x1,000,000
here comes the Cookie Monster "singer" - can anyone make out what he's yelling?
3 sausages come out of the men's room from a 3-way
eventually the noise stops, sausages clap and try to look scary while shouting "urghghghg"
house lights come on

There I saved you $20 entry and $200 doctor visit

^ that's a fire sale?

wishful thinking, more like.

Posted by Anonymous | July 31, 2012 12:11 PM

I dont call mostly face value and up a fire sale...$25 tickets might be considered a firesale

Posted by Anonymous | July 31, 2012 12:16 PM

"$200 doctor visit"

Thinks he's witty he is.

Show will be great tonight.

I think many may have bought an extra or two in order to speculate. They are the ones that have been advertising them for $70-$150 each. No one bought them, and the lowest they will end up going is face (because they don't know the game). We won't know for sure if this was a fire sale until after the show, when we see what occurs outside the place. We already saw a fire sale last week with Wilco, so it should be pretty apparent by 5:00.

12:35 ha ha $200 doctor visit!

What a joke..no doctor visit is under $200! What an idiot!
