Cruel Intentions

The L Magazine's Summerscreen series, which presents free movies and music in McCarren Park, already announced this season's slate of films. Today Summerscreen announced the bands that will play before the screenings as curated by Todd P on behalf of Showpaper. This Wednesday (7/11) is the first one of the year, with 1999's Cruel Intentions paired with the sounds of Colin L. Orchestra and Indian Jewelry.

Summerscreen happens at N 12th @ Bedford Ave. Doors to the park open at 6:00pm, bands go on at 6:30pm, and films start at 8:15pm. Food and drink will be available.

Top Gun
With music by Knyfe Hyts and Skeletons, plus an L Magazine curated band via ReverbNation

I was really hoping that they would have had a screening of "The Plight of the Chuckpea" this year... It's an amazing documentary about the hummus production facilities in Lebanon. It's truly a gripping film.

Is Todd P going to explain these complicated films to the attendees? Maybe he will show a short 1950's film ad warning against herpes for all those Beacons Closet esque burg "girls".
