As strongly hinted, Surfer Blood was in fact the secret band at the struggling Cake Shop Thursday night. They opened for Death Cab For Cutie earlier in the night at Wellmont Theater in NJ, and then shared a bill with Grand Rapids at the much smaller basement club in Manhattan. They play with Grand Rapids and in NJ again on Monday. Here are some pictures from the intimate NYC show. More of them below...
