10am tix 4 chairitea glasslands. real show. no dj set or stupid shit like that.- The Antlers

The Antlers at Bonnaroo (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
The Antlers

While we love the boys in The Antlers, they might want to step up their spell check game. (Or maybe "charitea" in that tweet above is a pun or something?) No matter, we're still excited about that previously teased, and now announced, secret Brooklyn show scheduled for the end of July.... which we now know will happen at Glasslands TONIGHT (7/30)! The band will play the rare, intimate show with Port St. Willow to benefit Charity: Water, a non-profit dedicated to "bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries." Tickets go on sale at 10AM.

The show is the only appearance scheduled for The Antlers in NYC until September, when they'll bless ATP's I'll Be Your Mirror on Sept 22nd. The band released their new Undersea EP last week. Stream it at Facebook.

Hahah, "blowing it up." There's all of maybe five people interested in this show.

The last the this band had a small show in Brooklyn there was plenty of room and it was free at an 18+ venue. Why would the demand for a show that's charging money for admission at a 21+ venue be any bigger?

clearly you don't remember them selling out Webster in December.

I'd rather get food poisoning then see a show at Glasslands. They treat ticketholders like shit. If you haven't been and are buying tickets to this consider yourself warned.

^ food poisoning is way worse than a ticket mix-up. Such a drama queen!

yup sold out in 2 minutes

BV commenters are the biggest wet blankets ever. This shit sold out in 2-3 minutes. Looking forward to a fun night. Enjoy the sandy vagina, 9:27.

I'm sitting on four tickets in my cart. Not going to purchase them. Best of luck to whoever pulls them in the next five minutes.

Hey, did anyone go to Catalpa festival yesterday?

(crickets)

Oh, ok. I thought so.

I won't listen to any band whose members have facial hair, this little litmus test has saved me from hearing a lot of crappy hipster music.

Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2012 10:55 AM

^ nobody cares about what you listen to.

Not at all 1035pm. I was there last night and the crowd was perfect. You could easily walk up to the stage and people were quiet for most of the show. It won't be like that tomorrow in Brooklyn.

Can't wait to see all iphones up in the air and people chatting away @ Prospect Park....

Yawn. The Antlers. Now, the iPods... That's another story.

Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2012 11:17 AM

Hahah, I love whoever is just sitting on the last ticket...letting the timer expire, pulling it again and not buying it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2012 11:21 AM

good one.

Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2012 11:30 AM

who cares about this

Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2012 8:42 PM

Seriously the worst band around right now. Genius marketing campaign. They are AWFUL.

Posted by Anonymous | July 30, 2012 9:41 PM

Holly Miranda would get a bigger crowd than this snoozer.

9:56: At least it was funnier than those faggoty iPods and hummus/phyto-nutrient "jokes" that trendies somehow think are even remotely amusing (har har dur!).

10:07: Wet blankets? Lol, was that supposed to be an insult. Funny, since you sound like a woman yourself.

I am all for charities such as Charity:Water that other artists, like Brooke Fraser support. It's great to see The Antlers joining the herd of artists who are using their music and influence to support worthy causes that benefit the voiceless. I am so excited to catch their show! It is going to be a treat hearing them live, and at such close proximity at that!
