counting the seconds til Frohawk comment...

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 3:20 PM

This isn't Afro Punk... This is Afro Hummus.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 3:22 PM

Blipsters of the world unite!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 3:23 PM

This sounds like a lot of waiting in line. I hope PS 1 is empty that night

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 3:30 PM

TV On The Radio are so bad. And not as in good. More like absolutely terrible.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 3:45 PM

Got so many nipples the kids call me Spic Larry

Posted by Spic Larry | August 7, 2012 3:58 PM

They still haven't announced which performers are playing which days? That's annoying.

Also: I can understand how several of the comments here are some legitimate stab at humor or what-have-you, but what is "Blipsters of the world unite!" supposed to accomplish exactly? It's not clever to point out there will be Blipsters there, or use the "of the world unite!" construction. Is it supposed to be a Marxist jab at the corporate-sponsoritude of the thing? (I doubt you even really thought about it much as you wrote, to be fair).

Is this free?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 4:25 PM

4:20 I wrote that. Yes, it was a jab at a "punk" festival with a laundry list of corporate sponsors. If anyone thinks for a second that this fest is somehow reflective of punk rock ethos they are a fool.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 4:37 PM

yes its free

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 4:42 PM

".... Reggie Watts ...."

I stopped reading there

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 4:44 PM

if someone thinks anyone thinks this is somehow reflective of the punk rock ethos then they're fucking retarded

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 4:45 PM

^they're sure trying to sell it that way

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 4:47 PM

While Das Racist doesn't belong on any bill, I'm certainly skeptical of them being on this bill, considering that it's two Indian guys, and a guy that's half Italian, and half "Afro-Cuban". So their overall demography is 15% black, and 0% credible rappers? No fucking thanks.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 4:49 PM

^since when was it cool to filter out by bands by their ethnicity in the first place?

This whole scene is counter-progressive.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 4:57 PM

Clearly, the majority of people on this forum do not know what a "AFROPUNK" is.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2012 4:39 PM
