Aimee Mann at MHOW in January (more by Dominick Matrangelo)
Aimee Mann

As mentioned, Aimee Mann and Ted Leo are touring together this fall and are hitting NYC for a show on October 27 at Town Hall. Tickets for that show are still available, but if you'd like to catch Aimee and Ted (who will be playing solo) in a smaller venue, you're in luck because they just announced that after the Town Hall show they'll play Bowery Ballroom on October 29 and Music Hall of Williamsburg on October 30. Tickets for the newly added shows go on sale Friday (8/24) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (8/22) at noon.

Aimee Mann recently made a video for the title track off of her upcoming LP, Charmer. You can watch that video and check out a list of updated dates below.

I hope to god Ted Leo and Aimee Mann never say a word about the "1%" or anything along those lines, because at 50 bucks a pop for tix, their only possible fan base is rich peeps.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 11:51 AM

Ted Leo is no Wayne Campbell.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 12:00 PM

$50 = rich peeps? U live in the US?

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 12:02 PM

Ticket at Bowery is $35...

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 12:06 PM

Amiee Mann was never a looker, and time has been no friend to her.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 12:17 PM

What isn't $50 in NYC after SC these days?!

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 12:17 PM

20-25 bucks, I'd consider it. Oh well.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 12:19 PM

So the ticket would have to have a $15 base and $10 TM surcharge..not happening at Bowery...stick to living room etc if that is what you want to spend.

12:17 my philosophy is the more unattractive the band/musican the better the music..it is the case for 95% of musicians!

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 12:24 PM

^ there is zero correlation to that fantasy

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 12:30 PM

^name an attractive musican that has good music?

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 12:40 PM

12:30 I agree with 12:24

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 1:12 PM

"my philosophy is the more unattractive the band/musican the better the music"

Jay Z must make the best music, because he is as ugly as they come.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 1:39 PM

"95%" of the time...

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 1:43 PM

I think Paris Hilton's album was really amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 1:55 PM

Paris Hilton >>>> this Garth Algar looking dyke

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:10 PM

^ what's even more laughable than you thinking that Paris Hilton makes good music is that you think that she is good looking. The girl is a skank ho as well as tone deaf. LULZ @ you I guess.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:11 PM

"this Garth Algar looking dyke"

FTW!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:11 PM

Paris Hilton is hot... (2:11 is probably a husky framed girl)

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:13 PM

Paris Hilton would make an amazing mayor of NYC... And that's all I'm saying.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:16 PM

Paris Hilton's album was surprisingly not that mad. Granted that's with the best producers money could buy, but still....Paris Hilton >>> this Garth Algar looking dyke AND the husky framed girl that is 2:11 #1

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:21 PM

I lost every ounce of respect for 1:55/2:13. It might have been funny if the comment was draped in sarcasm, but nope you outed yourself. SMH @U silly fop.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:25 PM

^fatty, dyke, or fatty dyke?

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:29 PM

"stars are blind" by Paris Hilton had deep lyrics. Real deep.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:33 PM

OK still no one names a good looking musician with good music..point proven!

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:40 PM

^because there are eight million of them. Surely you can't be this dumb.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:47 PM

^You're because you couldn't name one!

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 2:59 PM

^Sade, PJ Harvey, Chan Mrshall etc. etc. etc....I could go on and on and on and on, and I'm only into the ladies. Now go kick rocks Quasimodo.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:07 PM

You serious? Chan and PJ? Wow Both odd looking ladies.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:10 PM

I can't wait to see who 3:07 picks for attractive men who make good music..

Chris Martin? Bon Jovi?

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:17 PM

^yeah Chan was so odd looking she was Chanel model.

Look I'm sorry you're an ugly chick who likes this Wayne's World chick, but pull your head out of your ass and then learn the difference between your and you're.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:17 PM

3:17 Chanel models are anorexic and mostly sick looking..fact that she was a chanel model takes away her music legitamacy... try again hot shot.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:18 PM

Hey 3:17 maybe you should learn the difference between your and you're??? Re read and learn.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:19 PM

um, Kickball Katy, duh.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:20 PM

3:18 is obviously ugly & angry. I feel sorry for her.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:21 PM

"fact that she was a chanel model takes away her music legitamacy..."

huh? Nico was a model. Someone go tell John Cale she wasn't musically legitimate.

You truly are a dumb fuck.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:24 PM

Did anyone catch the BV reference in the "Charmer" video? "Veeeeeegan"

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:45 PM

3:24 be careful how you use the word dumb, as people that throw it around as an insult like you are doing often end up inadvertently referring to themselves in the eyes of those reading them.

I would say Nico was much more a singer then a songwriter. I don't think the person proposing this hypothesis is saying there can't be such a thing as an attractive singer with a good voice. He was talking about, I think, talented musicians/songwriters.

I would agree that people born norm-attractive, and who strive to achieve that look, tend to end up being a bit more shallow and vapid and dumb and this hurts when making music. Polly Jean does not socially act or look like an "attractive lady" in the way that I think the original person was speaking. But obviously no silly all encompassing rule like that is perfect but I think his has some validity.

Though Aimee Mann is talentless. Her songs are as bad as the movie Magnolia and anyone that likes both has... bad taste.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 3:56 PM

I agree with the first two parts you wrote. As far as the other comments chan looks ok but here music is boring. I don't like neko saw here with new pornographers and solo and the live shows fall very flat. Aimee is a better songwriter and performer though not a looker.

Paris Hilton For Mayor 2012!

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2012 5:23 PM

Man... I finally caved and dropped $50 on a Town Hall ticket last week, only to have this announcement made?

I would so much rather see them at Bowery than at Town Hall!

FML.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2012 10:11 AM

^Town Hall is decent place for a show..chill vibe ...decent acoustics..ok sightlines

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2012 11:02 AM
