Tiger Waves

Austin's Tiger Waves are in town this week for their first NYC shows: Thursday (8/9) at Pianos with Golden Animals; then Friday (8/10) at Cake Shop with Night Panther, Popular Culture and Mariner; and Saturday (8/11) at The Rock Shop with Wyatt and The Happy Problem. All tour dates are listed at the bottom of this post.

You can stream Tiger Waves' Don't Be Yourself EP from earlier this year at the bottom of this post as well as their new "Weekends" single and both of them are free downloads from their Bandcamp site. The band make straight-up hooky guitar pop with some baroque touches, putting them somewhere between, say, The Shins and The Crayon Fields. Pretty catchy stuff.

A list of dates and streams are below.

Bands are really getting more desperate for creative photo shoots.

I wear winter hats in summer too. I guess I'm corny as well. Tiger Waves sounds kinda like The Beatles. That is cool in it's own way.
