Bloc Party at Terminal 5, 8/07/2012
Bloc Party

Mid-'00s survivors Bloc Party kicked off a post-Lollapalooza three-night run at Terminal 5 on Tuesday (8/7) with openers The Drums. The band's 17 song set (including two encores) hit most of the highlights of their eight-year career, including "Banquet," "So Here We Are," "Helicopter," and "The Prayer", but they only played four songs off their forthcoming album, Four. The setlist is at the bottom of this post which contains pictures from the show .

Don't forget, tonight's Bloc Party T5 show is streaming live via Bowery Presents' YouTube channel (UPDATE: this happened and you can watch it). More pictures from last night's show are below...

"when WILL they get real jobs?!"

maybe when they stop pulling 50k+ per show in major markets

Why do the pictures look like this?

http://www.brooklynvegan.com/img/music/blocparty/terminal5/33.jpg

Not good.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 8:47 PM

Well, why didn't you say so negro?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 9:06 PM

Hey, why don't you sing us one of the old ones. You know ...

"Camptown races sing this song
DO DAAAR
DO DAAARRRR"

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 9:13 PM

Didn't they hear the news? Alt-J has rendered them obsolete.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 9:21 PM

N I G G E R or monkey?

CAN'T TELL.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 9:33 PM

Why do I always end up extorting the wrong people?

Posted by Alkaline Fitzgerald | August 8, 2012 9:59 PM

The stream no doubt sounds 10x better than the live sound at T5.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 10:21 PM

$2 a song seems pretty steep for mediocre Wire ripoffs.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 10:23 PM

Is Harry Potter still playing drums for them?

Also, I love Kele's fancy dashiki top!

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 10:35 PM

This show looks like a big panic attack. I am getting too old for this shit.

Glad I saw them at their very first US gig at the old Knitting Factory! Thanks for the memories BV! Can't believe they opened for A.R.E Weapons!

Why are we talking about a band that stopped being relevant in 2004 when MOMFORD AND SUNS have a new single!

Bloc Party should stay in England where people listen to lame ass arctic monkeys for god sakes.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:08 PM

Jersey was definitely in the house!

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:45 PM

I'm not actually going to say the iPods' name, but I think we all know what band has the most diversity from track to track, okay?

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 2:20 AM

^ stop it troll. you are causing pain and suffer.ing to people and you know it. you were asked nicely. it's really sad that you lack the maturity to want to cause pain to another person. it's one thing to post an opinion, it's quite another to knowingly cause another person pain. you are a mean person, and you kinda suck.

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 6:25 AM

Bloc Party mixed up the setlist yesterday..good stuff

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 8:23 AM

Hey 9:13/9:33 - Don't you have some Sikh temples to raid somewhere dick?

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 8:32 AM

10:43 is soooooo rad, live in the present a$$clown

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 8:41 AM

too bad both these bands suck. oh dear what happened to french kiss. worst roster in music these days!

Posted by anonymous | August 9, 2012 9:00 AM

7:09PM, couldn't agree more, thought the same thing when I saw that photo. Ucch, I cringe when I see photos of T5. Worse venue ever.

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 9:03 AM

worst, ooops

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 9:03 AM

we got the best setlist last night they've played since reforming

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 9:15 AM

@8:41 - No need to live in the present. If you went to this show, it clearly states your awful taste in music.. and venues! <3

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 9:40 AM

Just announced- Bloc Party will be opening for PiL on their upcoming tour.

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 9:59 AM

Like eating glass in night 2?

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 10:03 AM

9:40-didnt go the show, just stating what a t00lbox you are to send a link to a show you went to years ago. And yea, you are too old. Go throw in your marcy playground tape and retire. Bet you went to their first show at the grays papaya on the UWS back in 2001.

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 10:55 AM

10:55 - I'm not 9:40 but there isn't anything wrong with talking about a relevant show that you might have seen on a music blog as long as it isn't said in a douchey "I'm better than everyone else" kinda way.

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 1:32 PM

The new Bloc Party album leaked, kiddies.

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 1:46 PM

You know I always wondered why you Hipster douches didn't like T5... I figured it was some dopey reason like the sound or atmosphere or some aesthetic crap like that...

But it's because your packed in too tight!?!

IT'S A FUCKING CONCERT!!

Get over yourself and your pathetic head bobbing... I would much rather go to a show where I get punched in the face...

If you think Bloc Party had anything that constitutes as a mosh pit your softer than a Sealy posturepedic...

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 2:16 PM

My Sealy hurts my back that shits hard..maybe softer then a low numbered sleep number bed would be a better description!

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 2:37 PM

oh nooo why no kettling :(

ALSO ALL YOU BLOC PARTY HATERS CAN NIBBLE MY EAR :)

Posted by Nib Nob | August 9, 2012 2:55 PM

I'd rather that you went to a show and got punched in the face too! Finally we have found some common ground.

Posted by Scarfing Material | August 9, 2012 5:37 PM

OMG THEY _DID_ PLAY KETTLING ! ! !

Posted by Nib Nob | August 10, 2012 1:19 PM

hipster-hummus-fart-attack near floor - stage left where i was standing perfectly still getting aggressed by drunk jersey girls.

I got my Bloc Party/T5 life's fill, about 5 songs in to their set.

Never again.
