Chan looks much better in that photo than in reality

Hammerstein? Really? 1/2x face?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 7:19 PM

In what universe can she fill Hammerstein? Not a chance this will sell well.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 7:19 PM

Wow, from Webster to Hammerstein...skipping right over T5!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 7:23 PM

Uh, she will be able to sell Hammerstein very easily.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 7:23 PM

Chan is looking H-O-T in that press photo. A big stretch on filling up Hammerstein though.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 7:32 PM

She sold out T5 on her weakest record (Jukebox) a few years ago

With her first original record in over 6 years it wont be a problem to sell Hammerstein.. especially this new record.. its a strong one..

I could get used to a NYC Cat Power show every autumn.

That's not Cherokee

This is Cherokee

Wow two songs with the same name... what will they think of next...?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 7:47 PM

^ dumb as fuck right there

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 8:02 PM

its sarcasm.. ever heard of it ? So Charlie Parker also had a song called Cherokee.. how is it relevant to the Cat Power song ?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 8:09 PM

I, quote, can't believe, end quote, that Hammerstein Ballroom will be putting this show on in October. Normally I would expect that in a Queens/Upper West Side locale, but over the bridge and tunnel into Staten Island and beyond that to the Hamptons? Ha. Not a chance. Will be good to take the Subway out to Williamsburg out in Jersey to be seeing this in the Bronx, in Brooklyn. Webster Hall, T5. The Bowery.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 9:55 PM

Hammerstein Ballroom is hunger. Ready to swallow Cat Power whole.

nom nom nom

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 10:09 PM

That's a great song--interesting and a new direction for her music.

Posted by Brian | August 7, 2012 10:12 PM

8:18, why can't people from their own countries talk to you? If it was peaches and just peaches and cream all the time, it would just be a dessert you dumbo!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 10:25 PM

yes ! been a long time, Chan !

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 11:05 PM

8:18 will wake up tomorrow morning, the acid having faded from his bloodstream, and he will read the paragraph that seemed just so clear last night when he wrote it. And then he'll tell his mom that yes, military school might be a good idea after all.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 11:13 PM

At least she's not leaving a bunch of cryptic clues making everyone guess wrong as she releases a new video and jokes about how everyone was expecting a tour. That would have been kinda, I dunno, dickish?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 11:23 PM

She sucks live. Seriously.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 11:56 PM

End Apathy canceled as the openers, maybe the iPods. Real diversity from track to track.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:25 AM

Think 8:18 PM is doing a fine job of imitating spam.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:26 AM

i wanna hump her fanny while god looks on aghast

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 6:45 AM

Too bad the music is so boring. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 10:26 AM

have you heard the new record ? anything but boring...

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 10:29 AM

shitshow

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 10:33 AM

Stephen Stills has a song called that...

Posted by George C. Scott | August 8, 2012 10:39 AM

I love Chan, but Hammerstein seems like a stretch. Too big and not conducive to a Cat Power show.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 10:55 AM

1:25 is painful. He phrased the joke wrong and his timing in posting it was completely off. Anyone else miss the real iPod poster?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:10 AM

She good live?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:13 AM

I like this track

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:20 AM

strange choice of venue for her, town hall would be a good choice

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:26 AM

11:10 - not in the slightest

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:38 AM

herpes (see upper lip)

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:40 AM

I think they were playing this at brunch in Ditmas Park on Sunday.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:45 AM

think she is a scientologist at this point?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:47 AM

when is she going to release a full version of 'how can i tell you?'?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:53 AM

Tix = $39.50 + $9.10 Fees = $48.60

REALLY?!?!? 23% of the ticket price in fees? FOR WHAT?!?!?!?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 11:59 AM

@1159 REALLY?!??! YOU JUST NOTICED THIS?!?!?!?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 12:02 PM

I guess that I just did the math and realized it was over 20%. So, yeah.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 12:06 PM

it's always over 20%. such is life.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 12:21 PM

leather lips

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:00 PM

Embarrassed to admit I agree with 11:10. The fact that literally no one laughed at 1:25 shows how he botched it. I am sick of the joke, but this was particularly poorly presented.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:51 PM

Tix = $39.50 + $9.10 Fees = $48.60

>> those fees are actually low for ticketmaster if you did some research.. most are $10 to $11

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 2:38 PM

Hate to admit it but I did, yes did, laugh at 1:25.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 3:52 PM

give it a rest, bro..

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 4:34 PM

Just imagine that she wrote all these songs while watching Giovanni Ribisi sleep.

Posted by Crosseyed Sniper | August 8, 2012 8:16 PM

aw come on it's a harmless joke. i don't find it funny, but hey other people seem to like it. what's the harm?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 8:16 PM

^ Hey ASSHOLE, multiple people have reported feeling anxiety and bad feelings about it, THAT'S WHAT'S THE HARM. Now, are you going to stop, or are you such an ASSHOLE that you feel the need to inflict pain on what appears to be genuinely nice readers that have asked politely repeatedly to stop? I mean are you really that stupid, or are you just mean? You really need to answer that for yourself.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 9:09 PM

This new iPod poster is NOT the original, just FYI. You can tell it is different and worse.

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 1:43 AM

Easy, easy, let's all just calm down here and try to relax. Me, I don't like the joke either, but then again it's just a joke. Go for stroll in the park, hike up a mountain, get some fresh H20. ;)

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 2:18 AM

^ you are looking for trouble, my friend. you really want to cause pain to another person? that kind of stuff comes back to you. you need to think about that, and stop trolling hurtful things on here.

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 6:22 AM

I agree. Once something crosses the line into hurtful, it is not funny any longer. No one should feel uncomfortable coming on here. This person (1:25, 3:52, 8:16, 1:43, 2:18) needs to stop this harassment now.

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2012 7:02 AM

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Harassment? Why, it's just a harmless joke, a harmless, harmless, harmless joke, a joke, a joke, a joke.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2012 2:11 AM

Chan looks much better in that photo than in reality
^
not. seen her perform in a small venue before. she is very attractive.

I always thought the singer of Cat Power was really pretty. Their music is really for slow dancing.
