CocoRosie at MHOW in 2010 (more by Amanda Hatfield)

The Tinderbox Music Festival, whose mission is to showcase innovative female artists and donate 100% of the proceeds to organizations empowering women in music, is returning to NYC this year, and unlike 2010's at Southpaw and 2011's at Knitting Factory, this year it takes place at the much larger Webster Hall on November 11 and CocoRosie will be headlining. No other details have been announced yet, so stay tuned for more to come.

There will also be a fundraiser for the festival which happens on September 13 at The Lounge at Wework (177 Lafayette St at Grand St) with Nellie McKay, Alyson Greenfield, and Dawn Landes' band The Bandana Splits. $50 tickets for the fundraiser are on sale now. The flier for the fundraiser is below.

CocoRosie resurfaced this year with a new single on Touch & Go (for whom the release was also a comeback). If you haven't heard the Dave Sitek-produced "We Are On Fire" or its Antony-featuring b-side, "Tearz for Animals," you can check them both out below.

Empowering women in music? So what exactly is done with this money? How does an organization empower women?

I am so tired of this BS. Raise that money and donate it to a worthy cause like a magnet school or a soup kitchen or a research facility. Stop wasting your money with stupid social issues.

yeah, it would have been slightly more to the point had they gotten a woman to produce their single...

By failing to take even a moment to re-check your facts and your thoughts, you reveal your great satisfaction with your own ignorance.
