Kate Bush
Horse

Gawker says:

Every once in a while, Kate Bush makes an appearance in pop culture, mythical creature that she is. Tonight was not an example of one of those appearances. She did, though, needlessly rerecord her only song to go Top 40 in the U.S., "Running Up That Hill," and give it to the Olympics so people could do weird things with their bodies, recreate some of her interpretive dancing from the video and build a literal hill along to a song that's really about gender-fucking. Also, there are montages of athletes, some of them weeping in defeat. In other words, this was a solid Kate moment, despite her predictable absence. (I believe she literally lives in a castle on a hill.)

Kate Bush released this song via iTunes today, but it is not available in the U.S. In turn, this performance was broadcast overseas in a much longer version of the ceremonies that were chopped up by the time they hit U.S. shores. So basically, Kate was like, "Fuck the U.S." and then the U.S. was like, "Who?" As usual.

You can watch the cut Kate Bush song segment at Gawker.

more importantly NBC cut out MUSE who preform the theme song for the london olympics. MUSE!

They cut out the Bjork performance in Athens, too. NBC can blame time zone issues all they want, but the truth is they have no taste or common sense.

they cut The Who and Duran Duran
NBC really did an awful job with the Olympics all together

They should've cut the whole ceremony. It was a disaster.

neither Kate nor Duran Duran performed in the uncut version of the ceremony. Kate was a no show and i don't even believe duran duran was ever planned to be in it, they performed a concert in hyde park that was a olympic event but not closing ceremony. The whole uncut version of the ceremony was available streaming LIVE online at nbcolympics.com , started at 4 pm, and was MUCH TOO LONG AND BORING. whiners.

They should have cut it! Kate Bush needs to stop re-inventing music that she did in the past. It was all perfect and her new renditions are terrible! Who on earth gives a song to the Olympics and is a no show in their own country, oh that would be Kate Bush. I would have cut it as well, it was ridiculous;y boring and long! Without her there to sing it, was a waste of Olympic space!I'm beginning to think she is suffering from a mid-life crisis!

"more importantly NBC cut out MUSE who preform the theme song for the london olympics. MUSE!"

Radiohead must have been too busy to write a theme song, so they found a Radiohead copycat band instead?

^ Yeah, not like that glowing Radiohead cocksuckery hipster, "oh Muse were so much better when they were called Radiohead!" was old or anything...

They even cut out the IPODS, for shit's sake! InexCUSable! Bob Costas should be drawn and quartered.
