Quicksand at Rev 25 (via)
Quicksand

We warned you, and now it's official. Quicksand have added ANOTHER NYC show in addition to the now-sold-out Bowery Ballroom date, this time at Music Hall of Williamsburg on August 25 (the day after the Bowery show). Tickets go on sale Friday (8/10) at noon. The show is will call only, and no tickets will be offered at the box office.

Quicksand will also play one other show after the NYC dates, at FYF in Los Angeles.

Toro y Moi just announced as openers!!!!!

I am going to gauge this band's popularity based on the number of comments this post gets. > 72 comments and I will like them.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 5:57 PM

5:57 - 3rd best comment of this post. And now you're one closer to liking this band!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 5:58 PM

CIV is Opening!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 5:59 PM

Anyone catch Civ And Texas is the reason opening for Quicksand in 95? - That must have been an awesome show!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 6:06 PM

once this show sells out, the bowery tix will go craaaazy high since you can't resell this will-call only glory.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 6:29 PM

What are you smoking 6:16? Of course you can sell will call only. You buy 2 tickets and you sell your extra and walk the person in with you. You are right though that anyone who held off selling their Bowery ticket will still make a killing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 6:31 PM

Quick sand is really kewl.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 6:32 PM

SICK!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 6:34 PM

does any one know if quicksand will be doing any other west coast shows besides fyf. I'd go to fyf but standing in a field in downtown LA in smoggy september for two days just to see quicksand doesn't sound very appealing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 6:36 PM

if nothing else, the booking of these shows (and struggle to get tix) has reminded me of how awesome these guys were and how much i used to like them. it's been years since i actively listened to this shit, but i have to say, it holds up really well.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2012 6:44 PM

Third eye blind just announced as openers!

"Anyone catch Civ And Texas is the reason opening for Quicksand in 95? - That must have been an awesome show!!"

Saw a show on that run; their final tour. Civ ruled. Quicksand, who were my favorite band at the time, and I'd had seen 2 other times in the several months prior, were fucking dreadful, and obviously hated each other and had no chemistry at that point. They broke up a few weeks later. And now, here we are again, a bunch of dudes who don't want to be around each other, and Walter, who when he put GB back together, was saying in interviews Quicksand was the worst thing he'd ever done, in a do recall.

Posted by oh well | August 7, 2012 9:46 PM

My favorite Quicksand shows that I saw back in the day:
1)Quicksand & Rage Against The Machine @ Roseland 93'
2)Quicksand, Seaweed & Orange 9mm @ Irving Plaza 93'
3)Quicksand, Orange 9mm & into Another @ The Academy 94'
4)Quicksand, Texas is the Reason & CIV @ The Academy 95'

Saw Quicksand with Mr. T Experience & Mrs. Potato dick years ago.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:45 AM

Saw Quicksand with Radiohead in '94 best show of my life.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 7:51 AM

Quicksand opened for EMF in Atlanta in 1992. It was a radio station festival.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 8:09 AM

Never got to see Quicksand, hopefully I'll get a ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 8:26 AM

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 12:29 PM

Civ/ Quicksand @ the Old Firehouse in Redmond, WA, sometime in 95 or 96. It was 'aight, but the best show that year was Bloodlet opening for Neurosis. I'd pay a hundred bucks to see that again.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 12:33 PM

Powermad/Quicksand/Laether Strip/Nitzer Ebb in '93 was special

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 12:34 PM

"Queensryche / Living Colour / Quicksand @ the Coliseum!!!"

Now THAT is awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:11 PM

The Quicksand / Foreigner "Feels Like the First Slip Tour" fucking ruled.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:14 PM

Christopher Cross/Loggins & Messina/Chic Corea/Vanilla Fudge/Silverchair/Midnight Oil/Quicksand @ top of Ayers Rock Summer Solstice '91. Sound mix was a little off and Loggins had a sore throat but otherwise perfect evening out under the stars.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:21 PM

I saw the mini-tour "Manic Monday Compression" with Quicksand / The Bangles. Quicksand totally blew them off the stage.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:23 PM

T-Rex and Three Dog Night, Nassau Colosseum 1973

Not as epically disproportioned as Hendrix/Monkeys but almost. Blew my little guy mind.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:41 PM

""Queensryche / Living Colour / Quicksand @ the Coliseum!!!""

I miss the Coliseum.

And Brownies. And the Academy. And Wetlands. And ... Not sure how people consider venues such as T5, Saint Vitus, etc... acceptable.

Never saw Quicksand back in the day for some reason. Would love to see Handsome reunite next.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:56 PM

Well I don't know about the sound at St. Vitus, but I know that it's acceptable for one thing amirite

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 1:58 PM

I loved Brownies and the Wetlands. I am not a fan of Terminal 5.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 2:13 PM

1:58 - bravo.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 2:19 PM

54 comments. I think I may have to like this band.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 2:21 PM

T5 is an abomination

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 3:17 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 3:30 PM

"This band needs to reunite next"

I agree. In fact I said it at 1:56PM! Did they perform much when they were around? I don't remember ever seeing them play a local show.

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 4:27 PM

1:56 + 4:27-

TOTALLY AGREE. Almost would rather see Handsome than Quicksand

Didn't they tour with Silverchair and Local H?

Posted by Anonymous | August 8, 2012 5:43 PM

"Would love to see Handsome reunite next."

They'd draw, literally, 50 people at the most. No one gave a fuck. And yes, they played all the time, and toured a bunch. Usually with bands which made no sense.

Posted by mikehermetic | August 10, 2012 11:43 AM

Second show sold out in 35 seconds. Ticketmaster is amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:09 PM

Fucking sold out again.

Posted by RC | August 10, 2012 12:09 PM

unlce tupelo needs to reunite..that shit would be hot!

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:12 PM

Yeah, sold out in less than one minute. Something is fishy. Ticketmaster site is annoying to use too, I had all my credit card info and all that stored and ready to go, still couldn't get a ticket. Thanks, walter. Guess he's "always gonna be there with his best friends" ;)

Posted by Richie | August 10, 2012 12:12 PM

obviously it sold out instantly, demand exceeds supply by a ridiculous amount. common sense.

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:21 PM

all i have to say FUCK OF TICKETMASTER!
i almost had the tickets. then weird 'did not choose payment method' notice..
tried again @ 12:07 -- sold out!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:26 PM

This is so depressing! Just play one LARGE venue that everyone can get into you dopes!

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:27 PM

i ment FUCK OFF TICKETMASTER!!!!!!
fucking mafia

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:29 PM

Sorry to the losers. All is not lost though. I got 2 so I have one to sell and I still have 1 for Bowery left that I did not sell yet.

You are going to have to pay a shitload for them(won't accept any bids less than $170) but at least you get to see the show.

Check craigslist ad in about 20 minutes. Good luck

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:30 PM

I would rather pay off a security guard, than paying some troll as scalper trying to bank on this. Piss off, troll. Your trust still has plenty of funds in it anyway. Hope your extra ticket goes unsold.

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:37 PM

People trying to profit off this is just sad. Wish it would have been no ticketmaster tickets, but onsite presale in person tickets only...
This rain would have chased off the people who didn't care enough ;)

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:45 PM

prices gon' skyrocket - it's like everything they do to prevent scalping only increases it (i.e. this show should'nt have been will-call only, so as to dilute the prices on SH)

Posted by Anonymous | August 10, 2012 12:52 PM

People complained they should do a paid show. Not that both are sold out, do you want a free show @ House of Vans still?

I heard that Quicksand invented hummus and the fuzz pedal. Not only that but, they taught Stravinsky how to read music, and are supporting their reunion with the profits from their trading energy futures.

Stay sausage, my friends.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2012 6:34 AM

lol they are the most sausage band in the world lol lol
