Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:03 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:08 PM

There were no tickets. They probably put like 10 on sale. The rest went to friends, family, industry execs and strippers. Total Bullshit. I knew this was going to happen.
Fuck them for booking the show at such a small venue.
I was sitting here for 20 minutes logged into Ticketmaster with my card ready to go at 12pm on the dot and they were gone..

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:08 PM

noone on this board got a ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:09 PM

This show could have easily filled Hammerstein Ballroom.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:09 PM

12:09- true.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:10 PM

I hope everyone who works at ticketmaster gets in a car crash and dies. of AIDS.

Posted by anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:10 PM

12:08 lives in Omaha, never heard of Quicksand, 19 years old and loves going on this board to announce he has tickets to shows he'll never go to.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:11 PM

sounds like i might get 8x face for my two

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:12 PM

Fucking stupid having this at Bowery - I always thought Walter was the smart one.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:12 PM

Total bullshit

Posted by Bill Power | August 1, 2012 12:17 PM

I'll never understand why people are so eager to see bands play live. I like music and all but having to deal with this nonsense and then make the effort to go to the show and deal with assholes all night sucks. Just watch it on youtube a few days later.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:18 PM

Got tickets at Mercury Lounge... You should really go there and wait to get actual tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:18 PM

Missed out like everyone else...Anyone that is looking to sell 2-4 get at me

jesse@eastwestworldwide.com

Posted by Jesse | August 1, 2012 12:18 PM

absurdity. if you're gonna book a major show at a venue that amounts to someone's loft apartment, then, ya know, book three shows. is it some gimmick to know that you'll do that but fuck with people by only announcing one show, let them squirm a bit? makes the band look bad, the promoters look shady, and the fans at their wit's end ... everyone loses.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:19 PM

12:15 is a bafoon.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:19 PM

I'm actually from Oregon.

Posted by Fitz | August 1, 2012 12:19 PM

Pay 150$ a ticket or just have my memories of seeing them play dozens of times in my youth for free? I'll rely on my memory thank yo very much.

Posted by Nicholas | August 1, 2012 12:20 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:20 PM

You watch, they're probably going to announce a free show at Waterfront in BK tomorrow. Good ole' Wally is quite the saavy business man - he always was the brains in the NYHC crew.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:21 PM

I saw them at CBGBs so fuck you.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:22 PM

Stupid idiots saying no one on here got tix or that the guy posting the order form made it up. Just because you did not get a ticket does not mean others were in the same boat
I got 2 tix easily. You can say i am lying but be sure to look on craigslist in about a half hour and see my ad to sell 1 of them. I see StubHub set the price at 150.00 which is a nice bounty but I think I can get more. Let's see.

Also, laughed at the guy with the fake bp notice. No second show added. This is it fuckers. You want to see Quicksand you are gonna have to pay.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:24 PM

Putting my two on stubhub shortly. Just booked a table at Lugers for the 24th. Got to love idiot music fans. Muchas gracias Quicksand!

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:29 PM

"Also, laughed at the guy with the fake bp notice. No second show added."

Yeah, that was just another trendie with no life looking for SOME form of amusement, from their shallow little void.

"You want to see Quicksand you are gonna have to pay."

More like "you want to see Quicksand, you're gonna have to hover your mouse ready to click at split seconds notice, once the timer reaches 11:59:59".

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:29 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:32 PM

I had 4 people trying, and none of us got tickets. As much as I'd love to see Quicksand, I won't pay $125 to see anybody.

I hate Ticketmaster as much as the next guy, but fuck all of you opportunistic wastes of sperm and eggs. @1252 to make you feel like crap. no other possible reason.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:54 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:55 PM

about 30 tix have been sold on stubhub already for an avg price of $130. that's retarded. these guys were fun, but i'll save my money thanks very much. fuckin a.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 12:57 PM

^more like an average of $150-175

11:47 is an idiot

12:45, thanks for the comic relief. Your comment made me snarf the soup I was eating for lunch, lol!

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 1:02 PM

"^more like an average of $150-175"

unless there was a dramatic sale of really expensive tickets in the 3 mins following my assessment, no. the avg ticket price is/was 130. if you go through the process of listing tix, it tells you.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 1:04 PM

Disgusted with humanity and other so called music fans right now, hoping they announce another show or SOMETHING! I feel like a family member died

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 1:06 PM

1:04 go check. i'm serious. Low $120 high $205. Most around $150-200.

Excellent, this early in the day and already we have the winner for biggest idiot comment on BV today. Would have been even better if this dunce said

"they will play a much better venue, like Terminal 5, soon after so no big deal"

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 1:39 PM

I can almost bet they'll add another NYC show. Either Europa or MHOW.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 1:46 PM

will be moved to Terminal 5. details later.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 1:46 PM

the worst thing about stubhub is that the assholes selling the tickets remain anonymous and never even have to show their face to the people they are ripping off. i got a ticket to the show through ticketmaster, and i am still so mad about stubhub.

@ 2:17 Welcome!

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:20 PM

dude, if you've been waiting for 10 years to see quicksand, just pay the $150. what is wrong with you.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:30 PM

Because I don't have money pouring out of every one of my orifices? Because I need to eat food and pay for rent?

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:34 PM

If you've been waiting 10 years to see Quicksand you're old enough to where you should really have $150.

Poor life choices I guess.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:35 PM

I'm 23. I can swing it but I'd rather not. Plus I'd rather not enable the "I'm going to buy-out tickets for a show that I don't care about just to resell the tickets for an astronomical price" market. Call it principle. Also, go fuck yourself and people like you ought to be subjected to a pre-mortem viking funeral.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:40 PM

^c'mon it's a couple extra shifts. A couple extra pizzas delivered a day and you can make it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:41 PM

you do realize that the people telling you to buy $150 tickets are not the people who are buying/selling the tickets right? we are just giving you an honest opinion re: your values and current situation.

if you had saved a dime a day for the years you were waiting, you'd have enough money to buy a pair. you must really hate saving money for things in the future that might require disposable finances.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:42 PM

Hi 2:17/2:34

No sympathy here. Suck it up. Eat Ramen noodles for a week. I got your Quicksand ticket right here. 150 bucks right now and hurry cause once these initial ones on Stub Hub go, price goes up.

Fuck You, Pay Me

Signed,
Jimmy Blaze(the fat black scalper you see at every show out front)

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:42 PM

lol the guy doesn't want to 'enable' the scalpers. like you will have any effect whatsoever on their industry whether or not you buy the tickets on stubhub. those guys are all making $$$ off this show no matter what happens.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:43 PM

I just don't want to enable those types of people. I could, but I will miss Quicksand if it means that I don't take part in their borderline sociopathic bullshit. People who do that really are the scum of the earth.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 2:44 PM

Nice try.

"You're dumber than a burlap sack full of piss. It's about principle, not liquidity. Eat a handful of rock-salt you nickle and dime palooka."

Your principles lead to absolutely nothing other than you not being able to see your favorite band. You have no effect on the scalping market. Your principles are pretty funny.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 3:12 PM

"I just don't want to enable those types of people. I could, but I will miss Quicksand if it means that I don't take part in their borderline sociopathic bullshit. People who do that really are the scum of the earth."

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

really, guy. they are just trading commodities at their true market value. you probably do this when you buy your boxes of 45 candy bars for $10 from candy wholesale retailers and then sell your individual snickers bars from your bodega for $1.25.

the real assholes are quicksand; leading you to believe that you can actually pay $25 and get a ticket for this concert. in reality, only ~300 of the ~15,000 quicksand fans will be able to pull that off; the rest will have to pay what the tickets are actually worth ($140+).

long story short, learn to live in the real world like the rest of us. things will end better for you.

i didnt get a ticket buy wont buy into the hype for those stubhub prices. will somebody please pass the salt and pour it in my wounds?

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 4:24 PM

you kids are all so funny!! quicksand is a $15 band at best. $30 with those rapacious fees was really pushing it--even DEFTONES, the one in the genre that "made it big" only charges $35 for their club appearances. fact that someone, anyone, would even consider paying what someone above called "secondary market" prices of over $100 is mindblowing. kids, keep in mind that yes, they will add additional shows; like gorilla biscuits (for those of you who know the relationship) who continue to play "reunion" shows, quicksand will likely do the same. maybe they'll need a replacement for sergio who is very likely having far more fun and satisfaction with DEFTONES. btw, i admire the kid who refuses, on principle, to pay "stubhub" prices.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 4:43 PM

How the fuck are Quicksand and Deftones anything alike? Quicksand isn't nu-metal breh.

they'll play more shows, but they'll be at t5 (ala refused, and every other 90s band that's been reuniting lately). this'll be the smallest show for sure.

for a band like quicksand, t5/roseland ain't gonna cut it. gettin' mah bowery on.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 5:45 PM

dear 5pm: i was referring to the relationship between gorilla biscuits and quicksand. happy to explain for you. guitarist for GB is singer/guitarist for quicksand. and deftones and quicksand toured extensively together in the 90s. you're welcome. you see, now you don't have to buy that book on amazon on the 90s post-hardcore scene.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 5:49 PM

@528 bullshit

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 5:49 PM

oh, in my haste, i forgot to reiterate, too, that sergio--original bassist from quicksand--is the current bassist for deftones. need any more relational evidence, sir? ; )

I'm going to wear my Yale sweatshirt and my Andover hat to this show and I'm going to stagedive a lot.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 8:39 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 10:07 PM

Cake Shop would have been a better choice

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2012 10:09 PM

Coney Island High would have been a better choice.

( dating myself? yes. but also confounding all the newly transplanted kids)

This show is a hype-builder for the band's certain future of performing on Goldenvoice cruise ships.

Not reuniting would have been a better choice.

Slip was o k

Irving Plaza would have been a better choice. Irving Plaza and the Academy had all those bands back in the '90s.

this is more interesting than pavement, that's for sure

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2012 8:31 AM

I just put 4 up for $999 on StubHub. Think anyone bites?

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2012 8:41 AM

5:49 Thanks for the unnecessary history lesson. I lived it and am fully aware of the relationship between Walter and his various bands. I still take issue with your description of the Deftones being the ones in the genre that made it big. Are you referring to Nu metal? Because that is the genre that Deftones have always been associated with. Quicksand was never a part of that genre. Maybe you want to try to compare them to Korn and Limp biscuit now too you fucking rube.

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2012 9:34 AM

^ Hey. I just wanted to let you know that someone played a trumpet on the Quicksand 7". Lemme know if you need more info, k?

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2012 9:55 AM

a quicksand, helmet and fugazi triple bill would be delightful

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2012 10:16 AM

9:55 holy shit a trumpet. that changes everything. didn't realize quicksand was actually a jazz band.

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2012 10:28 AM

tru. and as soon as i have the time, i will be posting on this thread an essay comparing quicksand to miles davis.

Anyone selling tics for 200 is a greedy douche and far from a real fan

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2012 10:21 AM

^I don't think most scalpers are real fans! They are in it for a buck not because they are fans of a band

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2012 11:00 AM

There are plenty of "fans" on here talking about making a ton of money off of tickets. Read the posts before u comment.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2012 12:08 PM

You believe they are fans and selling tickets for a huge profit?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2012 12:19 PM

They are not "fans". Just "fans" of making $$$

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2012 12:25 PM

lol they just dropped more bowery tickets - i'm guessing yall were too busy arguing to notice?
