Motorhead / Anthrax / Slayer at Mayhem Fest 7/27/2012

It was Slipknot who headlined the date of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ on July 27. Featuring a supporting cast of names like As I Lay Dying, Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada and many, many more, it was clearly a festival skewed towards younger metal fans instead of the old-school diehards that the rest of the upper bill appealed to (Motorhead, Anthrax, Slayer). Here are some pictures, mostly of the headliners. More, with some of the setlists, below...

It seemed odd a metal band would just name themselves after "The Devil Wears Prada" -

From wikipedia:

They have explained that their band name is based on an anti-materialistic mindset and derived their name from the novel, The Devil Wears Prada. At the time of naming the band, the members assumed that the novel included anti-materialism as its moral, until later discovering that the novel did not feature this as its message at all.

Hi-larious, 7:49.
Even funnier 7:51.

I can't wait to see what original material you come up with next.

Someone should give you your own comedy channel!

Cool video 7:59. Nice job.
Thank you for sharing.

I don't think 7:51 is joking. I mean, that could be David. Hard to tell with the face paint though. I'll say, "Maybe?"

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2012 8:12 PM

5:28 - those have to be the dumbest people ever, not that you couldn't tell by hearing them

But, no. Chik-fil-a had as many fans there as anywhere. You'd be surprised at how many of your peers are shitheads. The chikheads cross all boundaries in equal amounts.

Hate to admit it but I'm going to laugh at the upcoming iPods joke.

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2012 9:04 PM

The iPods broke apart! It ain't no joke!

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2012 11:12 PM

Anthrax and Motorhead both rule. Nuff said.

Dear Examiner.

A) Gary Holt is filling in for Hanneman. Not just some 15yr old kid from NJ.

B) Slayer opened with Disciple, Fact check you fucking faggots.

Thanks.

10:56 you are a homophobe

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2012 11:10 AM

10:13: He changed his name back to Chad Johnson recently. Now if only Ron Artest, I mean, World Peace, can do the same...

p.s. Trendy scarves are oxymoronic (and just plain old moronic) homophobes of the Ted Haggard kind.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2012 11:15 AM

11:10 - You interpreted it wrong. For normal people I would agree with you, but this one's a sausage. He is actually fabulous, queer as a $3 bill, but full of self loathing and lacking even a particle of self awareness. So what you see right there is pretty garden variety sausage projection.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2012 11:36 AM

I love you 11:36. You go girl! Tell it like it is.

Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2012 12:06 PM
