The Faint at Webster Hall in 2009 (more by Tim Griffin)
The Faint

Omaha/Saddle Creek scene dance-punkers The Faint will reissue their 2001 LP, Danse Macabre, the work they're best known for, on October 30 via Saddle Creek. The remastered album comes with six bonus tracks, a DVD, and a 60-page booklet. The six bonus tracks include a Sonic Youth cover, a Bright Eyes cover, the song "Dust," which features Bright Eyes, a Thin White Duke remix, and Out Hud remix, and the song "Take Me To The Hospital," which you can download in exchange for your email address below. The cover art and tracklist are also below.

The band will be going on tour performing Danse Macabre in full, and will hit NYC for a show on December 7 at Terminal 5 with support from Trust and Icky Blossoms. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (8/24) at noon.

Speaking of Trust, they recently remixed fellow Canadian/Arts & Crafts labelmate Feist's track "Graveyard," off of her 2011 LP, Metals. You can download that remix above or stream it below.

The Faint are also playing FYF Fest.

I can't believe Wild Flag (and potentially Baroness) cancelled, and the replacement is The Faint. Ugh.

Danse Macabre is when they started to suck. It was all about Blank Wave Arcade.

seriously? T5?

when they toured this record the first time, they played Northsix. back when it was still like seeing a show in somebody's basement.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2012 2:43 PM

^Yup. I was at that show!

I love that record, but it still can be found regularly for $6 wax. Is this reissue/tour necessary?

Oh, and FUCK trust. ugh.

The Faint and Icky Blossoms both put on a great live shows

North Six was not like someones basement. You're either trying yo sound cool or you were never there and trying to sound cool. The had a basement, yes, but the faint played upstairs in 400-500 capacity space. I'm cooler and saw the faint a few times at Brownies. Those were good shows.

haha yeah North Six was basically just a wider Music Hall with bleachers. Basement? No.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2012 4:16 PM

You've never seen my basement, dildogs.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2012 4:40 PM

Nice! I saw them in that little basement club North Six many moons ago.

Last time they came to NYC the Faint played Webster Hall with Ladytron. Do they really think they've GAINED in popularity since the last tour?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2012 7:09 PM

especially without a new album to promote?

Seriously. ANOTHER Danse Macabre tour? This will be a re-run of 2003. Seriously The Faint, by 2020 you'll be doing Danse Macabre tours remixed by the Muppets.

Northsix was a shitty basement of a club. Doesn't matter how many people you could fit in it.

this looks good.
