There are a lot of good options tonight!

Dead Can Dance play their second of two shows at the Beacon.

Scotish indie rock legends The Vaselines play the Bell House tonight on their way to Seattle's Bumbershoot fest. They're always a good time live and tickets are still available.

Or you could hang around Wythe and S. 2nd in Williamsburg and club hop: Vacouver's Mac Demarco is at Death by Audio; Fujiya & Miyagi play Glasslands; and catch the debut of Deerhunter drummer Moses Archuleta's new Moon Diagrams project at 285 Kent.

Make sure to swing by the BV photo exhibit "480 Pixels", currently on display at 92YTribeca through September 6. Gallery hours today are till 3 PM.

Any pertinent facts or goings-on of what happened at last night's DCD show from anybody here? I'm going tonight and I'm curious about how long the show was, how many songs, etc...

Thanks in advance,

Buckeye Shrimper, Buckeye Shrimper
Où est tu? Où est tu?
Sucking off a sausage, sucking off a sausage
Slurp gulp slurp! Slurp gulp slurp!

Enjoy life, BS!

I was at DCD last night. It was amazing. They went on at 9pm and played until about 10:45. They did three encores. A lot of people left after the 2nd encore, so don't leave!

cuz your friends don't dance and if they don't dance, well they're, no friends of mine

and SING!

The only show worth seeing tonight is Lee Ranaldo playing at UNION POOL!

Half of Sonic Youth in a venue the size of your mom's basement.

This is not rocket surgery.

I saw both halves of Sonic Youth in a club in Danbury the size of your mom's kitchen, full of Thurston's homeboys from Bethel. THAT shit was purdy kewl.

The Heavy at Irving Plaza.
I bet if that was a Bowery Presents show BV would have not failed to mention it...

The only show worth seeing tonight is Jimmy Buffet at Jones Beach. A bunch of bald jerk offs getting wasted with their fat ass wives. That will be purdy kewl...

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2012 2:53 PM

OHHHHH the Heavy at Irving will probably kick ass. The new album is awesome.

Funk or half of Sonic Youth. Suddenly there's a bit of Rocket Surgery involved....

The Heavy suck a nigga's ballz. Saw them, walked the fuck out. I'm totally serious.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2012 3:06 PM

Any opener with DCD or does the show just start at 9:00?

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2012 3:14 PM

I like the Heavy's recordings. What is wrong with the live show?

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2012 3:21 PM

I found the live show to be kind of predictable, kind of artifice, and very British funky if you know what I mean. the corners kind of square. Overall, I was expecting the effin jam and I got what I felt was white boy 1-2-3-4 with a black singer. You may find them great, but I've seen the real thing and I found this version sterile and flaccid.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2012 3:51 PM

You are better off going to see Antiballas or Trombone Shorty if you want the jam.

Fuck the root, FREE PUSSY!

Paperdoll was fantastic at Cameo. Ghost Beach was great as well.

"You may find them great, but I've seen the real thing and I found this version sterile and flaccid."

Careful, you might intice the scarves with that type of comment that's likely to be taken out of context.

"Careful, you might intice (sic) the sausages with that type of comment that's likely to be taken out of context."

I'd say that the sausages are already "inticed", amirite! Not rocket surgery here.
