Altar of Plagues
Altar of Plagues

Altar of Plagues played Saint Vitus on Wednesday (9/5) alongside hard-touring Chicagoans The Atlas Moth and the incredible Brooklyn instrumental trio Sannhet. Altar of Plagues featured a pair of additional hands in Stavros of The Atlas Moth and Joe of Wolvhammer, who each filled in as a touring member of the Irish black metal crew. Pictures of the US incarnation of Altar of Plagues, as well as all other bands at the venue tonight, are below.

Sannhet will join Bad Powers (essentially Made Out of Babies sans Julie Christmas) and more TBA for a show at Saint Vitus on September 21. Additional details are on the way, but tickets are on sale now.

Pictures from Saint Vitus are below.

I was wondering why they had a Wolvhammer record for sale. I saw this tour in Boston the other night and was blown away by Altar of Plagues. Great set.

^ This sausage has spent WAY too much time in the Saint Vitus glory hole.

WAY WAY too much time, amirite?

^ Tattoos? On a sausage? No way!

You know why you sausages tatt yourselves up like this, don't you? It's because you're trying to be PHYSICALLY different from everyone else. You know why? Because deep down (even if you're not consciously aware of it) you know you're not truly different where it really counts:

IN YOUR FUCKING MIND.

NOTHING ELSE ABOUT YOU MATTERS.

You look like desperate teenage girls trying to get attention.

Exactly. Just non conformist conformists. About as individualistic as Mussolinis army.

And there so simple minded to think its either
either some hipster pop band crap or indie doom metal. Theres much more interesting "heavy" music as the lug heads refer to it as than they comprehend.
There must be more carbon copy derivative "black metal" "doom bands" than any other genre ever now days.

Nice Scorpions shirt meat head.

i honestly agree with 7:12. the same goes for hipsters too though. to me this is part of whats wrong with music in general right now. too much time in front of the mirror not thinking. dont get me wrong there have been some great stupid looking artists in the past. but looking stupid didnt come at the expense of their art. it just seems like everythings geared towards the potential cool iphone photo you could take rather than the song you could write or art you could make imo. theres too much posing and posturing right now. Frank Zappa looked stupid as fuck but it added to what he did. looking retarded wasnt all he did.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 8:03 PM

And nobody did what Zappa did and no one will be able to copy that now.

Theres the musicians that played with him that play his music in clubs to honor him.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 10:37 PM

10:37 thats not really what i was getting at. who is the "frank zappa" of 2012? it dosent really feel like theres an artist of that caliber anywhere out there right now imo. musicians need to quit worrying about having their picture taken and write some real fucking songs. dont tell me that asshole has those tattoos for himself. bullshit. he got them to make an impression on the people around him. too bad that impression is "not very bright or unique".

Posted by Anonymous | September 8, 2012 1:15 AM

Where's Frank Zappa at?

Posted by Anonymous | September 8, 2012 12:49 PM

fuck frank zappa

Posted by Anonymous | September 8, 2012 12:56 PM

fuck the atlas moth

Funny how these hipster assholes call everybody "hillbillies". What shit hole cow town are you coke fags from? Not ONE of you is from Brooklyn. If you see someone with a shirt that says "Brooklyn", they're from anywhere but.
