Ariel Pink at Irving Plaza - 9/12/12 (via Leandro Justen)
Ariel Pink

As mentioned, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti are on tour now (a tour that hit Austin recently) in support of their new album, Mature Themes, and the tour hits NYC TONIGHT (9/14) at Webster Hall with BODYGUARD (aka James Ferraro) and TEEN. Tickets for tonight's show are still available. All tour dates are listed below.

After the Webster Hall show BODYGUARD will head to 285 Kent for a show with three secret artists. Any guesses on who they might be?

You might be aware that Ariel Pink was also in NYC a few days earlier and played a private Proenza Schouler Fashion Week party at Irving Plaza on Wednesday (9/12), which is pictured above. If you were at the party, how was it? Weyes Blood (aka fromer Jackie-O Motherfucker member Natalie Mering), who plays with Sun Araw soon, was at the show and sang backup vocals with Ariel Pink for his song "Early Birds." Wonder if Ariel has any surprises like that in store for tonight.

Speaking of shows happening in Manhattan tonight, Holy Other will be opening for Amon Tobin at Hammerstein Ballroom tonight (9/14). Tickets for tonight's show are still available. Amon Tobin is also DJing a boat party on Saturday.

An updated list of Ariel Pink dates is below...

I had a different definition of the word "secret"

How is this a secret when the 285 social media account posts:

"RIDDLE: what do Ariel Pink, Holy Other, and R Stevie Moore have in common?"

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2012 7:43 PM

Yes, mentioning names with no context is the same as announcing an event.

"Yes, mentioning names with no context is the same as announcing an event."

Well, when the show listing looks like this, it's easy to put two and two together.

"How is this a secret when the 285 social media account posts:"

get over yourself

it's a secret show because the bands playing it have contracts with other shows that aren't sold out. You think it's a coincidence that BrooklynVegan waited until late today to post this and that the 285 Kent people and Todd P just started hinting about this today? No, they did it to find a happy medium between making the show a success and and not getting the artists in trouble. They've all know about this show for a while, and you won't find this show listed in traditional places like the artist's website or in an ad in a newspaper or a press release. You may be obsessed with twitter, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a secret show.
