Band of Horses at Hammerstein Ballroom in 2011 (more by Toby Tenebaum)
Band of Horses

Band of Horses will release their new album, Mirage Rock, on September 18. They'll kick off a tour in support of this October, but before that you can catch them performing Live on Letterman on September 17, the day before the record's release. The concert will be performed in the Ed Sullivan Theater in NYC and will stream live on CBS.com and VEVO on September 17 at 8 PM EST. This "Live on Letterman" performance is a full concert, which precedes the band's appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, which airs on September 21 and will only feature them playing one or two songs.

Then, on the day of the album's release (9/18), Band of Horses will play Brooklyn's House of Vans. In order to gain entry to this show, you have to pre-order their new album and the pre-order comes with two tickets to the show. A flier for this show is below.

As mentioned, they will also appear at Central Park on September 29 as part of the "Global Festival" with Neil Young, Foo Fighters, Black Keys, and K'naan.

Speaking of "Live on Letterman," Gotye will also do a performance, which airs on CBS.com and VEVO on September 24 at 8 PM EST.

A list of all dates, that show flier, and the video for Mirage Rock single "Knock Knock" are below.

You have to spend money on the new album in order to spend money to see them live? Fucking money grubbing clowns. How about I save my money for bands that don't give per-conditions to my coming to see them?

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 5:39 PM

Er, no... The tickets are free when you buy the album.

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 5:41 PM

Remember when this band was all upset that people were videotaping The Funeral?

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 5:50 PM

Damn. Wish I would have listened to this mediocre song from video before I made the impulse buy with pre-ordering their cd for the tickets. One of the reasons why I'm not allowed to watch QVC.

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 5:50 PM

What if I don't want the album? What if I just want to see the show? I am probably not alone in that. But then again, if I was going to spend money on seeing them I wouldn't want to got to a shithole like HOV. Yeah, fuckit.- Have fun yourself there, Punky Brewster.

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 5:50 PM

You people are so goddamn irritating. If the ticket was $9 (or whatever the album costs) would it really be that big of a deal? Just order the damn thing and give to a friend if you don't care that much about it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 6:08 PM

did anyone do this? how does it work? you order the album and your name goes on the list at the door or something? details were pretty vague on the site.

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 10:03 PM

5:39 doesn't know how to read

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 10:47 PM

Somebody told me about this YESTERDAY, and I was like ehhh no thanks man, I don't want to trek into Brooklyn on a Tuesday night, I don't have much of a desire to see Band of Horses, and I don't want their new album, so there you have it folks.

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 10:55 PM

10:55 Relly awesome post. Thanks for sharing.

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 11:01 PM

hey 10:55, cool story, bro.

Posted by Anonymous | September 6, 2012 11:16 PM

Do the tickets guarantee entree or is this like the other HOV shows?

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 1:00 AM

Hmm lets see last show at Hammerstein $40 a ticket. This show Two tickets for $20...whats the problem?

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 9:28 AM

heard the new album, very bad
they have goen south since their second, sad, they were amazing before...

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 9:50 AM

^They are from Charleston. They always go south...

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 9:56 AM

does the new record sound like soccer mom rock like the last one did? such a drag, the first two albums were awesome

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 10:24 AM

I just ordered the cd but nothing about the tickets ever came. whats the deal?

Posted by Brianna | September 7, 2012 1:30 PM

^Takes up to 48 hours to get the email...says it on their web page.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 1:36 PM

oo okay thanks a lot 1:36..i just freaked out bc of how vague the information is

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 1:44 PM

bc all i received was this email

Hey, thanks for shopping at Insound!

This e-mail confirms that your order was received.

When your order ships (usually within 24 hours assuming all products are in stock), you will receive another e-mail confirming ship date and time.

Remember: you are only charged once your order ships!

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 1:48 PM

well, this order won't "ship" until the week of the 17th, b/c the album doesn't come out until then. they must have some other sort of system in mind for the ticketing process.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 2:06 PM

ya i actually just received an email now actually..looks like im going!

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 2:18 PM

same, just got the guest list email. good times. whether the new record sucks or not, $20 for two band of horses tix is a deal in my estimation.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 3:31 PM

Wow...can't believe they have dropped two big bombs in a row after the Cease To Exist and Everything All The Time. There are 1-2 OK songs on the last album but the rest is filler. These new songs are horrible. STOP TRYING TO BE AMERICA or CSNY, and go back to being Band of Horses.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 4:08 PM

If it's like the other HOV shows (and I see nothing saying it's not) tickets will not guarantee entry. You're $20 just bought you waiting in a giant line while watching a shit-ton of people cut or get through on 'a list' while you wonder if you're going to get in.

Posted by Anonymous | September 7, 2012 4:52 PM

Sing about me some more

Posted by The Great Salt Lake | September 7, 2012 4:55 PM

this band has always fucking sucked

Posted by Anonymous | September 9, 2012 3:01 PM

Luckily, it's not like the other HOV shows. If you're on the list, you're getting in. They limited the number of spots for crowd control, plus I don't get any sense that there is going to be free beer and all that shit. Hopefully they play a bunch of old stuff and not just the new record.

Posted by Detlef Schrempf | September 12, 2012 10:44 AM

really excited for the new album and see them at House of Vans on the 18th! been wanting to see them perform for a while!

Posted by Amanda | September 13, 2012 12:59 PM

do they id for drinks?

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2012 5:41 PM

real curious what tonight is going to be like, anyone got any intel?

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 12:49 PM

hope there is an opener..coming from the Womack Apple Store gig!

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 1:15 PM

"hope there is an opener..coming from the Womack Apple Store gig!"

Yeah Right Moron, Damon or Bobby Womack will come and open for BOH. The connections are all there. I mean what the hell, Morrissey is in town preparing for his Radio City show, maybe he will come by and open

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 1:39 PM

^You're retarded...re read!

I said I hope there is an opener "for BOH" as I am coming from the Apple Store!

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 1:41 PM

i don't there is an opener, pretty sure they are going on around 8 and will likely play an hour or less. i got some intel that they are doing another private gig somewhere later tonight, after the hov thing.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 1:44 PM

^thanks for the update...only thing that throws me off is the time is slotted as 8pm-11pm..I forget where I saw that though

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 1:46 PM

"I said I hope there is an opener "for BOH" as I am coming from the Apple Store!"

And you are an even bigger idiot because

1)Unless you are at the Apple Store now on line, you ain't getting in. The line now is already huge and over capacity as it is.

2)Even if you got into the Store, by the time you head over to Vans it would be filled to capacity. Don't believe the other idiot above saying it is a definite in if you are on the list. That is total bullshit. They sent out invite's to anyone who ever RSVP'd to a House of Vans show and clearly said first come first serve.

2:03...if you did the insound cd preorder your ticket guarantees admission..I called Insound so there goes your theory

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 2:27 PM

2:03 you know there are two seperate lines for Iphone and Bobby right?

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 2:29 PM

@2:27, Yeah believe that and show up late and see what happens. House of Vans is a trainwreck run organization. But you go and believe Insound.

@2:29 Very well aware and the Bobby line is already over capacity. I asked the guards when i went by there. They are probably gonna give out wristbands any minute now.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 2:35 PM

clearly, 2:03/2:35/(whenever else he commented) knows everything.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 2:42 PM

^Wrong just called the store who's number is 212-226-3126 if you don't believe me...1st no wristbands for Bobby...also no line yet. But you can go ahead and believe a security guard for the iphone 5 line

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 2:43 PM

2:35 is just trying to keep people off the line so he can get in easier...doesn't work bub

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 2:44 PM

You are all a bunch of whiners.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 2:55 PM

are people seriously already lined up on the sidewalk for new iphones, nearly 3 days in advance?

that is really pathetic, if so.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2012 3:16 PM

well, just like i said, if you pre-ordered the record and were on the insound rsvp list, you were guaranteed entry. weather was fucking biblical, got absolutely soaked on the way in, but had a great time anyway. standard hov arrangement, free beer all night, etc.

tyler ramsey did a quick acoustic opening set and then boh played for about 90 min, hitting every album. they sounded great and were in good spirits, def a fun show.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2012 8:40 AM

KUDOS TO HOUSE OF VANS! Easy enterance free food and beer! Great show! Thanks again!
