Brooklyn Flea

On October 6, The Brooklyn Flea's Smorgasburg in Williamsburg will move aside the uinoa falafels, huaraches, lobster rolls, and doughnuts to make room for vinyl... it's another edition of the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair. The fall incarnation will play host to 32 vendors including labels like 4AD, Captured Tracks, DFA, Merge, Mexican Summer, XL, Warp, True Panther, and many many more.

In addition, look for private collectors to be on hand to peddle their new and used wares, as well as traditional record stores like Coop 87, Other Music, Halcyon, and Mondo Kim's to set up satellite stores for the day. It all goes down from 11AM to 6PM at 27 North 6th St. (Kent Ave and East River).

More details, including a list of participating labels, are below.

2:13 is wrong! It's an awesome fair if crowding around record bins with other sweaty dudes is your thing. Sometimes, if you're lucky, one of the bins that's on the ground, that'll put your face right at record collector crotch height, will become free to dig through! I hope I can score a beat to shit copy of Closer for over $25!

Yeah this fair was underwhelming last time. With the list of stores participating you'd expect rows and rows of vinyl to go through but it's just a handful of tables with a person already at every box.

Brooklyn Bowl does a much better record fair with deals galore.

Yeah, this record fair sucks. Everyone should stay away. Don't bother showing up---there's nothing to buy.

what's funny about 2:54 is that while he is complaining about how nerdy and lame this is, he's clearly been to it. fail.

Record "fair". That's all it is. "Fair."

What this city needs is a Record "Fucking Incredible."

i've never been. what exactly sucks about this? selection? prices? atmosphere? all of the above?

Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2012 5:52 PM

32 vendors. Looks like there will be plenty to buy.

Go be apart of your asinine I phone culture instead.

Attention fellow record shoppers!
When someone is crouched down looking at a crate in the floor, and your ass is literally inches away from their face, please don't fart like that one dude who farted in the pit at the arcade fire show. -thanks

^Record collectors don't know that kind of etiquette. Crouch at your own risk. Good luck finding a sweet copy of Sir Lord Baltimore's Kingdumb Come.

*awaits further influx of literary dweebs with their dorky "ironic" moustaches ala Rollie Fingers to shoot out their latest witticisms in the hopes that anyone will even chuckle*

I hate being inside your mind, you being in mine, and what ultimate destruction will ensue as a result.

someone farted in my face today.

Good thing for me I love the Ramones endlessly and I really enjoy the music of the Smiths, so I get out of this infantile anti-social behavior unscathed.
