Paul Banks at FYF Fest 2012 (more by Debi Del Grande)
Paul Banks

As written about previously, Interpol frontman Paul Banks, who has (as recently as this past June) released solo material as Julian Plenti, will put out his first album, simply titled Banks, under his own name on October 23 via Matador.

He's already got a European tour announced and is now beginning to reveal North American dates surrounding his appearance at Fun Fun Fun Fest. One of those dates happens in NYC on November 13 at Webster Hall. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (9/14) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (9/12) at noon.

If you haven't heard Banks single, "The Base," you can download it above or stream it, along with a list of all currently known dates, below.

He's big enough to headline Webster Hall solo? Is Interpol still big enough to headline Webster Hall?

WHAT HAPPENED????. How could you have one brief, brief stint of GREAT and then crap crap crap? Getting worse per release!

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2012 6:14 PM

I just released my song on September 11. It's called "the Base." (I guess he doesn't know what the base translates to in Arabic.)

staring at Helena Christensen's 45 yr. old ass makes you lose focus as an artiste

Yea guys, stop the negativity. This Artist is an Artist. Who are you to judge his Artistic Art? He's just expressing himself the only way he knows how: through his Art.

OMG this guy is like, so dark. I bet he's so deep. OMG do you think he went to art school, or something really cool like that?

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2012 11:25 AM

This site is full of little trolls with ugly negative souls. I feel sorry for all of you.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2012 12:06 PM

12:06 I know! My artistic, beautiful heart quivers with sadness knowing that they will never understand the innocent joy of the beautiful art that the guy from Interpol CREATES.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2012 12:17 PM

Paul Banks is an amazing artist! So excited for the chance to see him live and listen to more of his creations! He is the best blonde in rock!! Haters gonna hate

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2012 12:49 PM

12:06 yes, my sentiments exactly.

Posted by Kelly | September 12, 2012 2:03 PM

Paul Banks is the best! I'd pay to see him perform anywhere. Absolutely breathtaking talent!

Posted by Debbie | September 14, 2012 11:54 PM

Whole lot of ugly goin on here. If you like Interpol you'll like "The Base". It''s clear to see where Interpol gets the majority of its sound, voice, and edge. Only wish he'd set more dates for the Northeast. Saw them in Boston and they're even better (didn't think that was possible)live.

Posted by etoile | September 17, 2012 8:58 PM

DJ FancyPants will wreck you fool! See you at Webster Hall!

Posted by Pube Banks | October 3, 2012 6:52 PM

Their shows are not that bad. It was not spectacular, but if you want to chill, then their concerts are for you.
