Strife
Strife

It's been 11 years since LA hardcore band Strife has hit the studio, and now the reactivated crew (four of the five served on their hit In This Defiance LP) have a new record, Witness A Rebirth. As much an album title as it is a call towards their resurrection, Strife has employed names like Iggor Cavalera and members of Terror to help out with the new LP, only their fourth in a 21 year history. Look for Witness A Rebirth to hit on November 6 via 6131 Records, but you can stream the new track "Torn Apart" for the first time below.

Don't forget, Strife will be on the East Coast soon. Until then, stream the new song and check out a couple videos below.

It amuses me to imagine how quickly the sausage guy or scarf guy would just evacuate their bowels the second they stepped foot into a Strife show.

It would be like a balloon releasing ballast, but a fat, stupid, and ugly balloon, with a neck beard and bad skin, presumably.

September 27, 2012 12:32 PM

How right on that is. This isnt about music, its about posturing like some lughead.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 4:00 AM

lughead? really? So corny.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 8:09 AM

Over 40 and still doing new tracks, I find that inspiring! It's sad that "growing" up also means to abandoning what you dig.

Posted by jaws | September 28, 2012 9:08 AM

4:00 a.m:

so what you're saying is, this is what you do at 4:00 a.m. on a thursday night? Look at pictures of dudes in bands you hate? that's insanely creepy.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 9:10 AM

Posted by sausage | September 28, 2012 10:19 AM

Strife was heavy but they weren't though guys.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 11:10 AM

11:10- the vast majority of these posters never heard of Strife before this BV posting, how do you expect them to know?

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 11:16 AM

though guys, lulz.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 11:18 AM

I went to a Strife show and everyone was doing meth.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 2:22 PM

"Over 40 and still doing new tracks, I find that inspiring! It's sad that "growing" up also means to abandoning what you dig."

I love this line of logic. Yes, that's what happens. Adults make the concise decision to abandon what they dig. It's not a natural process of maturation or anything.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 2:35 PM

^TRUTH!

Reality is this guy's life peaked in his early twenties.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 2:40 PM

The "natural process of maturation" doesn't automatically mean one stops liking and creating aggressive music. If thats your thing, great. Playing music and touring is fun, even if you are "old", and even if nostalgia is a motivator for both the band and the fans. I'm sure these guys will be getting paid, which helps too.

If I could hit the road with my old band/friends and play music I enjoy to a sold out club every night for a month, I would do it, but all my old bands were terrible and no one came to see us even when we were around.

"The "natural process of maturation" doesn't automatically mean one stops liking and creating aggressive music. If thats your thing, great"

It did for every person I know who isn't a complete loser.

"If I could hit the road with my old band/friends and play music I enjoy to a sold out club every night for a month"

You're SUPPOSED to grow up. You should have a family/job/business whatever. Doing what you did at 20 when you're 40 is sad.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2012 3:22 PM

Whoa. @3:22. I agree with some of what your saying but..."You're SUPPOSED to have a family, business, etc"?

Are you one of these gay guys who will get married to a woman, have kids etc. Because society and your family told you your SUPPOSED TO?

There are some frustrated, repressed, angry little people making these sausage comments.

You don't think the members of Strife have Families, Jobs, buisinesses etc.? Dudes are pathetic for playing music? You ARE on a music blog you know.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2012 11:22 AM

I am normally no fan of beards, but hell, Rick Rodney is my no. 1 bearded dude! Maybe together with the vocalist in Monster X. Please come and play in Norway again!

Posted by jaws | October 3, 2012 6:33 PM

Hope they come back around for a non-festival show. The Church of St Paul the Apostle show a year or 2 ago was phenomenal.
