The first-ever Brooklyn edition of Riotfest happens today at Williamsburg with Descendents, Gogol Bordello, Hot Water Music, The Bronx, BV-faves Screaming Females and more. Rioting starts at 3 PM.

Today is also the last Warm-up at MoMA PS 1, featuring Thom Yorke's Atoms for Peace on DJ dute, plus Holy Other, Maria Minerva, Rustie, and Justin Strauss spinning as well. It's sold-out but there should be some tickets at the door if you get there when doors open at noon.

We also recommend checking out Sweden's Holograms who will be at 285 Kent tonight with locals Herzog Rising and Heavenly Beat. Check out the brand new video for Holograms' "Fever" below.

Or you could go see Italian glam punks Giuda (pronounced "Judah" if you were wondering) who will be at St. Vitus. The crowd for their show at Cake Shop last week went absolutely nuts, this will be a fun show... and how often do you get to see an Italian glam band?

Or if black metal is more your thing, Minnesota's False are making a rare stop in NYC for a show at Acheron.

Anyone paying to see T. Yorke play records is a moron. It's the ultimate vanity endeavor. Shame on PS1 for not getting a real dj.

Free show tonight with hot waterMusicandDescendents at St. Virus at 8:00. Plus they are offering refunds.

Posted by Anonymous | September 8, 2012 7:28 PM

just saw this:

"Due to inclement weather, we are sorry to inform the fans of Riot Fest that the rest of this evening's performance at Williamsburg Park has been cancelled. Refunds are available at point of purchase. The DESCENDENTS & HOT WATER MUSIC will be performing a free show at St. Vitus tonight at 8 p.m. ALSO, for ticket purchasers, your ticket can also be used for Riot Fest and Carnival (Chicago) next weekend at no cost for Sept. 15 and 16."

seems crazy unlikely seeing as there is another show at st vitus at that time.

BV's readers are doing all the work here today while he's asleep at the switch...
What you have twitter account for ??

Posted by eretz zion | September 8, 2012 7:55 PM

Yeah BV was late on the trigger with Descendants today with their tweet. Did not matter because by the time official information went out from Riot Fest, the place was already filled to capacity. In fact by the time the first mention of it was on twitter it was already filled up. If you were there before 6 you got in. After that you had to know somebody. Which was pretty funny and sad cause I stepped out to smoke around 7:15 and the line was around the block and down the street. The poor schlub working the door was yelling at people to go home saying no one is else is getting in. Each time he did that, some friend of the band, bar whatever would walk up with like 5 or 6 people and they let them in.

Amazing show. Much fun. Fuck seeing them at Riot Fest or Roseland last year. This was the place.
