"Witnessed dude fall from 3 stories into crowd @ #justice show. Anybody on the ground hurt? #hammerstein #NYC" - Mark Bellncula

Justice @ Hammerstein Ballroom - 10/21/12 (via Nick Wenck)
Justice

Justice brought their tour to NYC for a show at Hammerstein Ballroom last night (10/21) with Chromeo (DJ), one of several big shows happening in NYC the night after CMJ's conclusion. An anonymous source tells us that right before the encore, the members of Justice pointed towards the upper left balcony and a young fan, who "looked like he was tweaking out on something and seemed to think they were pointing directly," thrusted himself towards the stage so hard that he fell over the balcony, and after holding on for a few seconds he fell to the ground. Says the source, "The crazy thing is he immediately jumped up, threw his hat on and bolted from the venue. According to the venue staff and EMTs no one was severely hurt, but one person of the three who he landed on went to the hospital complaining of back pain."

Whoa. The show went on after that and video from it (balcony fall not included) is below.

I knew a guy who was a bouncer at Hammerstein and claimed that at a Matisyahu show some kid jumped from the first balcony.

What is it with people jumping from balconies at Hammerstein??

your anonymous source is full of s h i t. no jumping right up, the dudes in justice DID NOT notice what was going on, and the dude was seriously hurt and taken out by EMTs.

i was there an spoke to EMTs. noone was seriously hurt - we even bumped into the jumper outside the venue and he was fine with a few bruised ribs.

I was at Primus Friday and one point got stuck in the ga section by one of the balcony. I started to feel uneasy thinking about what if one of the drunk people on the balcony fell off. Thought I was just being paranoid...

@12:52 You should have been more concerned with the fact that YOU WERE AT A FUCKING PRIMUS SHOW. Terrible.

That's not how it happened at all.

@ 1:03.. Nice attempt at being clever.. I like what you did with the caps there.. So cool. But Why would someone be concerned that they were at a show that they wanted to be at? I WAS ALSO AT THAT FUCKING PRIMUS SHOW! Good times indeed! The 4 corner sound was pretty badass.

Posted by Anonymous | October 22, 2012 1:38 PM

i bet he jumped when he realized hundred waters weren't coming out

Was at that show. That dude didn't try to hold on he just fell. He fell onto some people and the EMTs took him out on a stretcher with a neck brace on. he was holding up his hands like he was okay, but either the alcohol or something else was probably numbing the pain. No one else seriously hurt it seems.

Hello my name is Eli Lekht. I work for a law firm that is dealing with a case that happened at the recent "Justice" concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom when a concertgoer jumped or fell from an upper balcony and landed on our client. The guy apparently got up and walked out of the show and was never identified. Our client spent the last few months in the hospital for injuries and surgery to his neck and leg.

The reason I am posting up here is to find out if anyone witnessed or had any information on my client's incident or any other similar incidents at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
Any help is greatly appreciated please email me at eli.lekht@gmail.com.
