Crime & The City Solution @ MHOW, 10/22/2012
Crime & The City Solution

Crime & The City Solution played Music Hall of Williamsburg on Monday (10/22) as part of their round of dates in celebration of their comp/crash course that hit last month via Mute. Support came from Blues Control and solo artist Laura Ortman. Pictures from the show adorn this post.

If you missed them the good news is that Crime -- frontman Simon Bonney, Alexander Hacke of Einsterzende Neubauten, David Eugene Edwards of Woven Hand/16 Horsepower and Jim White of Dirty Three and others -- are working on new material. No word on release dates, but look for American Twilight to hit via Mute in 2013. And hopefully they'll be back then too for more live shows.

More pictures from Music Hall of Williamsburg are below.

1 song from Room of Lights, 2 from Shine, plus a bunch of "new songs." all 3 old songs sounded as great as ever.

I wish I found asian women attractive. I have heard their vajays are tight and can be quite pleasing.

they were selling a strange compilation "introduction" CD that didn't have a single song from Room Of Lights.

The show was uneven, but some of the new songs were pretty good. I'd see them again. And credit is due to them for not just playing old material. I would have liked a couple more Rowland Howard era tracks, but he's (sadly) not around, so I'd rather see a band looking forward than a purely nostalgia driven act.
That said, they should have called it a night after Six Bells Chime, which sounded great.

such a shame this band got totally overshadowed by nick cave & the bad seeds. also a bummer mick harvey wasn't involved in the reunion.

I liked that show much. They sounded great. Very cool crowd as well.

7:17 - Sorry that I missed "Six Bells Chime" live. My absolute favorite song by this band.

7:36 - Don't forget the great These Immortal Souls who also took some of the attention away from Simon's project.

6:22 - How can you say they played mostly new stuff? They only played about three new songs, everything else was old stuff.

What a fantastic show. And if you're talking about Laura Ortman, she's Native American.
