4 5 and 6 should not have been made. the only redeeming factor was sir ewan mcgregor.
au
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 4:46 PM
This is most likely going to be the best of the 7 films
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 4:46 PM
4, 5, 6 were the first 3 you fucking ASSHOLE
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 4:47 PM
The Jar Jar picture is a goof. He will not be in it because it takes place after all 6! Gungans life spans are slightly shorter than humans so he would be dead by the start of 7
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 4:49 PM
FINALLY! YES YES!
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 4:49 PM
This is going to be literally the greatest achievement in cinema once 2015 arrives.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 4:50 PM
First Avengers, now this. Disney is making the right moves.

If Disney is buying Lucas to put out a number of new movies in the series, that would be awesome.
Posted by Steve | October 30, 2012 5:04 PM
Yeah @5:00pm, because the idea of making a new Star Wars without any involvement from George Lucas is really an amazing idea
Incredible!
Genius!
Surely these will be masterpieces.
Moron.

It's a joke, right? Like, you guys stole this from the Onion, right?!
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:05 PM
"If Disney is buying Lucas to put out a number of new movies in the series, that would be awesome."
That's exactly what is not happening. Disney is buying Lucasfilms for 4 Billion. Lucas will not be doing anything in regards to these films. No involvement
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:08 PM
you are kidding yourself if you think this wont be perfect
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:10 PM
No matter how you slice this disney is going to make a better star wars movie than george would have and the fact that they pid 4billy for it is just icing on the cake
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:12 PM
^ dumb as fuck right there
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:13 PM
they said the robot pals from the other movies will be in these which i think is good because i like those robot pals

Posted by 188 | October 30, 2012 5:21 PM
this will probably be a lot better than the prequels and just a hair better than the first 3. Maybe even with them because of brand new technology
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:23 PM
@5:23 its gonna be hard to top the original trilogy (4,5 and 6) because they were so good but i think these will probably be close or better
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:26 PM
nice
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:36 PM
5:05 Lucas's lazy directing and horrible writing was what made the prequels unbearable. He's past his prime, a businessman before a filmmaker. This is great news.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:38 PM
The people saying these will be amazing and as good or even better then the originals are either trolling or seriously fucking stupid.
George Lucas not being a part of these spells disaster.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:40 PM
as if the last 24 hours couldnt get any worse. ughhhh
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:42 PM
@5:40 you are high on drugs. These will be great. Empire strikes back was directed by Irvin Kershner and written by Leigh Brackett
and Lawrence Kasdan. Return of The Jedi was co written by Lucas but directed by Richard Marquand. The only star wars movies that are pure Lucas are the ones that everyone hates.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:49 PM
Yousa haters will be pwoooven wrong.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:51 PM
Disney is responsible for Lost so i'm Ok with this bit of news
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:52 PM
@5:49, clearly you have not a single clue as to how the franchise worked or what Lucas input was in each of them.
Go back to school kid, you are out of your league here,
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:57 PM
Listing the directors and writers of all the Star Wars films in a way to diminish or somehow prove what input Lucas had on them is pure hilarity.
You show your lack of knowledge with that
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 5:59 PM
@5:57 neither do you! you are just a cynic which is the most worthless thing a person can be
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:00 PM
@5:57 or a realist who actually knows what Lucas means to these films and how without him they don't stand a chance.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:01 PM
Disney is also in negotiations to buy Louis CK and Radiohead
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:03 PM
this isn't 1980. To say without George Lucas these will fail is to ignore EVERY SINGLE THING he has been a part of since Jedi wrapped. The dude made Phantom Menace single handedly. Obviously these will not be good but to think for a second they will be worse than the prequels because Lucas isn't involved is inane.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:06 PM
@6:06 exactly! It's like if weezer was bought by disney and they made an album without rivers cuomo. Maybe he made blue and pinkerton but that was a while ago and anyone could make a better record than the last few weezer records. Rivers is a non-issue because it will be shit no matter what.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:09 PM
That is real
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:10 PM
That is stupid
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:13 PM
At the end of the day i think it's pretty clear these new ones will at the very least be pretty good
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:16 PM
As a pussy eating Star Wars Nerd who has read over three dozen Star Wars novels (Shadows Of The Empire - The Unifiying Force) this could potentially be a good thing. Everyone agrees the Prequels were crap. If the new films are based on say, the "The Thrawn" trilogy i would be pleased. Even the "Star Wars: X-wing" series would make good films.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:27 PM
^^ YEP
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:30 PM
6:27 Nerd knows what's up! The New Jedi Order series would make perfect film material. The fuckin Vong on the big screen, that would be sick
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 6:44 PM
Fact - Empire Strikes Back (the best of the saga) was neither directed nor written by George Lucas.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 7:21 PM
Hopefully this will be as good as Indy 4.
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 8:57 PM
it will probably be better because the guy who made that one isn't involved
Posted by Anonymous | October 30, 2012 9:09 PM
my step brother works project development for disney. they have been talking about these sequels being mostly cg sort of like Avatar. he just toldme that the wachowski brothers had been attached but with there movie doing so bad this last weekend they may be out.

I always preferred New Hope over Empire. I like beginnings, and I never liked malt liquor.

To make hummus is a power only one has achieved....but if we work TOGETHER! I know we can discover the secret...
