Jay-Z
Jay-Z
Jay-Z

Were you at Barclays Center, or were you one of the 50,000+ people streaming Saturday night's Jay-Z show on YouTube? If you answered 'yes' to either, or maybe because you already looked at Twitter, then you know that Jay, who kept special guests to a super minimum over the course of eight Brooklyn shows, brought out Beyonce to help end it in style. Literally - she played with him earlier in the show (Nets advertisement on her head included), and then returned to sing "Young Forever" with him to end the encore.

The setlists were very similar each night. You can look at night one's HERE, and compare that to Saturday night's setlist, along with some videos from the show, below...

Come on Jay, it's almost a Vegas revue at this point.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 12:28 AM

At least he took the train to work today like the rest of us. I give him some credit for that.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 12:34 AM

I guess Beyoncé

How exciting

A huge missed opportunity for JZ. It could have been a memorable run with guest stars and spontaneous moments. Instead it was a very selfish humdrum bore every night. Feel sorry for anyone who paid more than $25 for this.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 1:36 AM

I think I would rather die, than have to endure this sad display.

Jay-Z just doesn't get it does he?

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 3:05 AM

1:36, don't feel sorry for ANYONE willing to pay to see this garbage.

This is the prayer:

"God, please give us roaming death squads like in they have in Mexico/South America. We need them more than they do now."

"Amen."

Say it every chance you can.

Obama's favorite thug and thugette stoke up the class warfare.

Posted by If | October 7, 2012 5:04 AM

I was there, and I'm a 30yo white female, and I thought it was a fucking awesome show. SUCK A D, HATERS.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 9:07 AM

9:07 - you are exactly what's wrong with Jay Z and Brooklyn in general.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 9:55 AM

9:07 did you fuck in the stands?

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 10:53 AM

9:07 is a beast who has never been fucked hence her need to attend a garbage fest like this to take her mind off how sad, lonely and pathetic her life is.

WTF is up w those lame leather Nets hats so gross and tacky like these 2. Beyonce is one of the most overrated artists of all times and Jay should just go live out his dream and run Goldman Sachs or some other Financial Company. All he cares about are dollars!

I for one am ready to celebrate the fact that this lame run of shows is over.

Didn't the guy retire a few years ago? What the hell did we do to deserve this sort of punishment and torture???

Posted by Anon | October 7, 2012 11:24 AM

Wow! I've honestly never heard that forever young track before and can honestly say it is a complete and utter embarrassement! Ah Ha probably made too much money to complain but if that was my song they were butchering I'd sue and issue a cease and desist ASAP!!!

Corny ass lyrics and what a poorly sung hook from B.

I love how virtually no one sings along when he tries to get the crowd to join in.

Go back to the circus you clown!!!

Posted by Anon | October 7, 2012 11:27 AM

These two are the equivalent of the Romney's. Pathetic, sad, money hungry losers!

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 11:34 AM

I heard him refer to his stake in the Nets as one of "our achievements."

I invite everyone to put that on their resumes.

So many white people on this site

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 12:15 PM

3:17 is a sad, delusional human being wishing death on people at 3am simply because they're home alone on Saturday night, while other people had fun at some rap show.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 1:06 PM

Oh no I enjoyed a rap show, kill me BK commenters....

Buncha fucking cunts on this site lol

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 1:10 PM

For real. Most of the posters on this site are 12 year old boys playing cool kid on dad's computer. Either that or drunk hipsters.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 2:09 PM

I went to the show, not to see jay-z, but to engage in conversations about the best brand of grape soda.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 4:37 PM

Brooklynvegan, where indie music coverage and racism unite in harmony.

I went last night, got a cheap shitty seat and still had a great time.

And yes, Forever Young is shmaltzy crap, easily one of Jay's worst tracks ever, BUT...

The 12ish-year-old girl next to me was screaming every word with tears in her eyes, just as much as the 30-something dude on the other side went nuts for "Can I Live."

One of the most diverse audiences I've ever seen at a show. Cross-generational mass arena-level entertainment that CONNECTS with people in a serious way. In fucking RAP MUSIC. That is history.

Also, 11:27, that shit is by Alphaville, not "Ah Ha".

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 4:43 PM

^The grape soda attempted meme has to go down as one of the top 5 lamest on this site.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2012 4:44 PM

Does anyone drink their grape soda with hummus blended in? I find it is a bit too mushy to truly appreciate the harmonization of diverse flavors.

Grape soda has too many calories so I only drink it once or twice a month when I want to get funky with my 'homies'.

^ So this is how far white guilt has gone, huh?

Black people aren't cool just because they're black, fyi.

Because let's be honest; no caucasian would really ever trade places with ANY black person, right?

Racism still exists in America for a reason. A very real reason.
