Morrissey reaches out to a fan at T5, 10/13/2012
Morrissey

Morrissey's final showing in NYC on his current jaunt went down at Terminal 5 Saturday night (10/13) where the former Smiths frontman was joined by Kristeen Young as part of a pair of dates at the venue (pictures from Friday at Terminal 5). Earlier in that week,  Moz played Radio City Music Hall (Dave Hill review here) and Stephen Colbert.

Morrissey's physical stature is daunting, and similarly his stage presence is impressive. While I wouldn't exactly call him an energetic live perfomer (he is almost "above it?"), Morrissey makes up for the on stage energy with a quiet cool, and the audiences eat it up. Morrissey would pace back and forth across the stage, whipping his microphone cord around like a taskmaster commanding the throngs to reach for him across the pit while screaming at the top of their lungs. Photos from the show are in this post.

Though Moz only logged a solid 75 minutes, he had the crowd in the palm of his hands for songs like "Everyday is like Sunday" and Smiths classics "Shoplifters of the World" and set-ender "Stil Ill." Setlist for the show, which was pretty similar to all other dates on this tour, is below.

Good show. Moz sounded fantastic but weak setlist. Did not banter with the crowd much.

overall, was good show except for the short pudgy girl with the boy cut in front of me that wouldn't stop rocking back and forth invading my space.

^ I feel ya, bro - I usually judge shows based upon who is standing in front of me too.

What's with the strip of duct tape on his neck/chest?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2012 5:58 PM

Had a blast at this show, was rocking back and forth to the tunes, and my short haircut allowed the heat to rise off my neck (long girly hair traps it, gets too hot).

I was at the show, and I can confirm that he was not on the phone at any time. He used the microphone throughout. Maybe it was where you were standing, 5:16?

Surprised as shit that he still gets away with this - 75 mins? Fucking Johnny Rotten is kicking his ass a few blocks away at 95 mins!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2012 6:33 PM

Hey Fred, clean the dust off your sensor!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2012 6:37 PM

You could fit the entire performance on a single CD-R and still have a few minutes left for a few of Jackie The Joke Man's Jokes Of The Day

75 minutes of Morrissey are fine, that was not a jack white bs.
And Johnny Lydon's show is almost 2 hours, not 95 minutes.

what is wrong with the security guard? He looks like a giant with a head the size of a tennis ball.

This was fun as fuck. Sorry he didn't play the hitz for you commenting squares.

best show of the three. setlist was great if you love the mozzers smarmier side, only dissapointment was no "rush and a push" over the three days even though he played it in boston.

Between the security guard and Morrissey's arm looking like a tree trunk, that is one bizarre photograph.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2012 9:06 PM

Also, does the security oaf really have to have his hand on that woman's arms? Does she pose a real threat, considering that the performer is greeting her warmly?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2012 9:12 PM

King Hippo as security guy

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2012 9:17 PM

"best show of the three."

You went to all 3 shows? Geez man, I thought i had met some crazy people in my life but you take the cake. What time are you due back in the psych ward?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2012 9:36 PM

My ex wife used to ask me "Why are you such an asshole, all the time?"

And I would always tell her "That's nothing, you should hear me play piano"

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2012 9:57 PM

5:52, a rush and a push and the land that you stood on was mine, hope you enjoyed the show ;)

9:36 really nailed it

amazing show, thanks for the pictures BV
hopefully next time he will play a longer set and change the setlist a bit

I went Friday and really wanted to hear I Know It's Over. Was bummed I missed that, but happy for you Saturday attendees that got to see such a beautiful version. Also would have liked to see a longer and more Smiths-heavy set, but overall I was pleasantly surprised at Morrissey's mood, the band's tightness, the quality of all the songs, and the fun crowd. All around a good time.

that bouncer's head and body are totally out of proportion, or is it the photo angle?

COME ON PEOPLE, THESE WERE POSTED THE SAME DAY (do you need more of a clue?!?!?)

he clearly disliked doing these shows and it's hard to say why. different shirts for the band every night...same set list with 75% filler every night. that's a guy who didn't feel like going on tour.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2012 2:16 PM

the reason why he's not enjoying this tour is that he's realizing that he's starting to look like quentin tarantino as the tour progresses

Posted by Anonymous | October 17, 2012 12:51 PM

he bothered to play still ill give him a break.
