Scott Walker

We were excited to fhear that Scott Walker is releasing a new album called "Bish Bosch" this December. More info and a video trailer below...

In addition to an extensive essay about the forthcoming album from The Wire's Rob Young, this four minute trailer for the album is now also housed on the site. The directors Iain & Jane were granted rare access to the studio to capture Scott, his co-producer Peter Walsh and some of the musicians involved in the making of the record. With this footage, they have helped to create a unique film that uses extracts from tracks "See You Don't Bump His Head", "Tar", "Dimple", "Corps De Blah", "Phrasing" and "Epizootics!" to offer a tantalizing insight to this much-anticipated album. Also included in this short film are glimpses of Scott working with painter Ben Farquharson and designer Philip Laslett in the creation of the album's artwork.

Expect more to be added to the mini-site in the build-up to the album's release on December 4th.
Stay tuned (though not for live dates).

Scott Walker pretty much trumps anything ever mentioned here on BV.

A new album so soon from him (relative to his timetable)!

Considering ATP cannot even organize a picnic, let alone festivals, I used to have hopes that the promoters would manage to get Scott Walker to do a show. He will continue to be the white whale of live musicians.

I always tell people that I like Scott Walkers music. I mean, I'm supposed to like his music, right? At least that's what the music press tells me. The truth is that there's no chance in hell that I'd ever sit around the house and listen to this shit. I'd honestly rather spend an afternoon burning my ball hairs off with a butane torch.

If you're that self-conscious about how "cool" you're supposed to come off as in regards to what you WANT to listen to, then you need to work some issues out.
