Screaming Females in LA earlier this month (more by Wei Shi)

Some unfortunate news from Screaming Females...
Bad NewsAffected shows include the entire tour with Black Wine which was supposed to hit Maxwell's on November 11. Bummer to hear, but get well soon Marissa!Since falling ill with mononucleosis in May, Marissa has been experiencing severe chronic pains that have rendered it very difficult for Screaming Females to tour. To ensure that Marissa has adequate time to heal so that Screaming Females can continue, it brings us great sadness to announce that all scheduled dates after October 10th will be cancelled. Thank you for understanding and we will see you all in the very near future.
A list of all remaining dates is below.

I think it was actually chronic sickness/nausea while being on tour. I guess seeing all those scarves at every single show finally caught up with them.
Hope they recover soon.

I don't know this band The Screaming Females, but I had a screaming female situation the other night, let me explain:
So there I was, at my girlfriend's loft in North Williamsburg. She was putting the finishing touches on her makeup while I waited patiently in the bedroom finishing up my latest oil on canvas. I told her we would have to hurry if we wanted to stop for a quick bite before the Animal Collective show at Williamsburg Park, but you know women. When I told her we would dine at Oasis she started to quicken her pace. On our way to Oasis we were so excited with anticipation for both the delicious hummus that awaited us as well as the aural wonder of Animal Collective that I forgot to check Brooklynvegan for the latest in music, photos and news. Little did I know what a tragic mistake this would be. Things were going swimmingly as my girl and I scarfed down our robust hummus platters at Oasis. As I ate i thought, "After this meal and this concert, I will surely be on her good side." But alas, I think you all know how this story is going to end. Upon arrival at Williamsburg Park there was no sign of Avey, Panda, Geologist, or Deakin! Needless to say, that female started screaming!
Shoulda checked BV!

I feel 1228 put in way too much time and effort trying to make a joke that sucked.

I am awaiting the release of a nice leather bound edition of screaming females stories.

Liberace and Richard Simmons could've come up with more convincing (and funny) "female" stories.

come on guys really? i understand making jokes about a band on here but this is kicking them when they are down. especially considering they are one of the only actual bands with instruments that brooklynvegan ever posts about that.

T5 a crap venue for most bands but would be good for GSYBE. Would rather see them at Angel Orenzatz but after that T5 probably best suits them if they play NYC
