As Curbed points out:
Around 6:00 pm tonight, the facade of 92 Eight Avenue, a rental building between and 14th and 15th Streets in Chelsea, collapsed, possibly due to the insane hurricane winds that are currently gusting upwards of 80 miles an hour. The FDNY quickly responded and evacuated all the residents of the building, which also houses a Muscle Maker Grill on the ground floor. Thankfully, no one was injured or trapped,As you can see in the video below, emergency vehicles were already outside the building, when the wall fell off.
Also below, that rather spectacular (and scary) video of the Con Ed power plant explosion from last night.

and this is the Con Ed explosion:

Lower Manhattan is without electricity, Rockaways have flooding and fires, Long Island has flooding in many areas, and NJ was hit bad not to mention the evacuation on the NYU hospital because of power failure so lets be thankful the rest of didnt have it as bad as those areas.
And dont forget Staten Island has serious flooding in houses and apts also.
NYC couldnt handle a much stronger storm with the density of population along with the power plants next to water.

Incredible. I still remember the "wall fall" in Cologne when the underground crashed. You can see it here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/dc/Stadthistorisches_Archiv_K%C3%B6ln_-_eingest%C3%BCrztes_Geb%C3%A4ude_%287328%29.jpg/349px-Stadthistorisches_Archiv_K%C3%B6ln_-_eingest%C3%BCrztes_Geb%C3%A4ude_%287328%29.jpg
