Crystal Castles headline Roseland tonight with support from HEALTH. Congrats to all who won tickets, and sorry to those who were hoping to catch the bands at the Capitol Theatre tomorrow because that show has been cancelled.

Caveman are performing at Ace Hotel this afternoon as part of their "5at5" which means five songs at 5 PM. It's free.

Tonight is the star-studded "Love for Leon" Levon Helm tribute / benefit at the Izod Center featuring Roger Waters, Gregg Allman, John Mayer, My Morning Jacket, John Prine, Warren Hayes, Garth Hudson, Grace Potter and many more. Net proceeds help support "the lasting legacy of Levon Helm by helping his estate keep ownership of his home, barn and studio, and to continue The Midnight Ramble Sessions."

You get two Phillips's tonight at City Winery, with '90s alt rocker / '00s Gillmore Girls troubadour (and all-around good guy) Grant Lee Phillips plus onetime Toad the Wet Sprocket frontman Glen Phillips. Tickets are still available.

Florida's gothy Cold Showers, who were pretty good opening for The Soft Moon recently, are back in town, playing WIERD at Home Sweet Home tonight. If you can't make the show tonight (which will be a late one), you can catch them again tomorrow (10/4) at 285 Kent opening for Weekend.

Not to be pedantic, but it's the "Love for Levon" not "Love for Leon". We all know who Levon Helms is; Leon Helms, however, remains an unknown quantity to the greater music fan community.

Levon Helms, eh? Or is it Leon Helm?

You can't quantify the difference, to the greater music fan community, or otherwise.

Hmm, thanks for the Nitehawk tip! This movie is amazing and even if I did want to hear Leslie's thoughts on it, can't do a Wednesday night.

Odd that Vernon Reid/Living Colour was not boldfaced in your write up and Melvin Gibbs never played for LC but Eye and I as well as Henry Rollins
