Weekend headline a gloom-leaning bill at 285 Kent tonight that also includes LA's Cold Showers and Census. We caught Weekend's first show as Brooklynites at Cameo last week and they were great, with new songs heading in a dancier direction, albiet in a late '80s goth kind of way.

Melvins Lite's world record attempt at 50 states (plus DC) in 51 days rips into NYC tonight with a show at  Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Meanwhile Jerry Seinfeld's non-record-breaking-but-still-cool five-borough tour hits Manhattan tonight for a show at Beacon Theatre.

The Soft Pack play Bowery Ballroom tonight with Heavy Hawaii and we're giving away tickets on Facebook.

Human serviette Nardwuar interviews hip hop eccentric Riff Raff in the latest installment of his video series and the results are pretty entertaining. Video is below.

Anyone get lucky getting Jay-Z tickets for cheap the night of? Thinking of trying my luck outside Barclays but craigslist is madd expensive. Figured with 8 shows, over 100,000 tickets, people would be offloading. Oh well...

New Melvins without big business is YAWWWWN-tacular

4:12 for real? They're still expensive? How the fuck is that possible? I feel like he's basically moved in to Barclay's at this point. It's been like two weeks straight, right?

who needs 4 Alabama Shakes tickets tonight?

Posted by Anonymous | October 4, 2012 4:37 PM

alabama shakes are still around?

Posted by Anonymous | October 4, 2012 4:41 PM

@ 4:41 Yeah I'm shocked too. No deals to be had on CL, wondering if people had experience grabbing a pair around the venue before showtime. Dunno if I care to make the effort. I was thinking it would be fun for $20, $30 tops but people are talkin' three figures on CL.

$80 for 4 Alabama Shakes tickets. Pickup on W. 56th.

Posted by Anonymous | October 4, 2012 4:58 PM

4:12/4:52 You are either a troll or just a complete fucking amateur idiot

First of all there are plenty of tickets going around Cl for 50, 60 and up.

The ones that are 3 figures are either scalping agencies or clueless morons asking those ridiculous prices. Does not mean they are getting that. You haggle em dumbass. There are so many tickets available and much less demand

Do you even know how to use craigslist?

But yes to answer your question, every night there have been many people trying to sell tickets for cheap outside.

5:01 - Wow, you've gone every night? That's kind of sad.

"New Melvins without big business is YAWWWWN-tacular"

Funny, since I think any Melvins WITH Big Business is yawntacular (an understatement, even). Nevertheless, I shall be shooting for the show tonight at Hoboken.

My father works for Heinken and he told me this weekend that Blur, Muse and Depeche Mode are the headliners for Coachella. Heineken is sponsoring this year again.
