^How'd that end up working out?

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2012 11:31 PM

friday new ordr go-ers.. be warned , opening band is beyond terrible. You know you are in trouble when you get your biggest applause when you say 'this is our last song'. Whoever signed this band (@Vice) needs their ears checked. And fuck the promoters for putting this shit on the bill. You think for the $ and the excitement around the event you could dig someone else up. Shame. DJ justin Strauss and friend..not a bad mix between sets, but with your pedigree and background I would have liked to hear a more eclectic selection. The 4 to the floor shit wore thin..And New Order is not New Order without Peter Hook.I had to check it out tonight/ a big missing.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2012 11:42 PM

what time di NO go on? how long was set?

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2012 11:57 PM

last time at Hammerstein opening band was also terrible.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2012 11:58 PM

they went on a little after 915, played almost 2 hours. I personally thought tonight was great. Yeah they are older and missing Peter definitely sucked. But the guy they got to play bass was pretty damn solid and the rest of the band were in great form (especially Stephen). They did mostly greatest hits and a few Joy Division songs to end it. Sound was a little iffy (its roseland afterall) but I had a blast and one of those iconic bands Im glad I got to see at some point in my life!

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 12:07 AM

the joy division encore and imagery was completely fucking tasteless and pathetic. i wouldn't plaster images of a dead friend and play anthemic renditions of a song he helped write in a celebratory manner, but that is just me...a guy fairly grounded with a semblance of integrity.

Rockin Daddy scene report?

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 1:03 AM

This set-list is the size of a Westphalia ham.

Posted by corner's dutch | October 19, 2012 2:05 AM

No mention at all of the Bell House schedule? That'll teach bands to partner up with BV Chicago for exposure; they'll just get ignored on the main site when they come to play New York.

I throughly enjoy the New Order show tonight...all around good time

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 2:39 AM

"They did mostly greatest hits ..."

as opposed to their new album? too bad, I was hoping for new stuff. oh wait ....

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 4:56 AM

New Order were awesome - they played for about 3 hours, and still had the magic from back inna day. Those first 3 albums really are strong.
Oh wait, I mean The Cure.

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 8:16 AM

^Stop babbling unfunny references to The Cure. People are trying to hear real reports about the NO gig last night.

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 8:41 AM

^ big fan of Schweddy Balls right there

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 8:45 AM

New Order has always blown. It is music for white people that feel too intimidated to dance at actual dance clubs.

Prove that I'm wrong.

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 8:46 AM

8:46 your an ass.

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 8:50 AM

8:41/8:50 - why you so mad bro? you need some schweddy balls to put in your mouth?

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 8:58 AM

"Prove that I'm wrong."

^ Anyone who says nonsense like, "Prove that I'm wrong" is a douchenozzle exposing their retardation.

The Cure - oh wow, so original! A reference to another band during that time! I guess that might've had a chance of being clever had it actually made sense. LOL!

Also, some of you need to stop pretending like Ian Curtis was your version of Jesus the Messiah. If NO want to do a tacky tribute, let them do a tacky tribute.

Schweddy balls guy (who I suspect is someone else familiar) was too busy stuffing is mouth with dirty socks to pass the time sitting home alone ahahaha.

Hope the rest of yous had a great time. Wish I could've been there.

Posted by Anonymous | October 19, 2012 9:25 AM

8:46 - You could say the same thing about LCD Soundsystem. That said, New Order is a much better band, not to mention much more influential than LCD. All James Murphy has influenced is for me to eat a donut.

Theres about maybe 10 interesting metal bands who have been around for a while out 10,000 or so that pop up every 50 mints lately.
