Brooklyn-via-Denver post-rock instrumentalists Woodsman play Bowery Ballroom tonight (10/12), opening for Marco Benevento. Tickets are still available. The band will also be around next week for CMJ, playing the unofficial Fire Talk showcase at Zebulon on 10/17 with Tjutuna, BBDDM, and Meadowlands (free); and another Fire Talk showcase at 252 Norman on 10/20 with Speculator, Tjutjuna, and Heaven's Gate. ($5, info here). All tour dates are listed below.
Woodsman are working on a new album as we speak but meanwhile are releasing a new single, "All Tangled Up," which is coming out as part of Lefse Records singles series. You can order the cassingle (!) of it here. In try before you buy spirit, we've got the premiere of the single's b-side, a droney/dreamy little number called "Sonic Tomb" that we invite you to stream below.

Theres about maybe 10 interesting metal bands who have been around for a while out 10,000 or so that pop up every 5 mins lately.
