Animal Collective

Animal Collective have scheduled make-up shows for the Williamsburg Park that got cancelled last month due to Avey Tare's laryngitis. They will play two nights at Terminal 5 on December 4 and 5. The band's only other upcoming U.S. tour date is playing the UR1 Festival in Miami on December 10.

Tickets to the T5 shows go on sale Friday (11/9) to the general public but there will be a presale for those who purchased tickets to the Williamsburg Park shows, details of which are still TBA. The band will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from the shows to the Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts of The American Red Cross.

Meanwhile, AnCo have a new single, "Applesauce," that is being pulled from Cetipede Hz and will be out next week (11/13). You can stream its b-side, "Crimson," below.

irrelevant.

A mishmash of laptop effects in a room with the worst sound in the city. This show has the potential to have the worst sound of any major rock act in the history of music.

I suppose you don't get a tax break if you donate to Occupy Sandy, which isn't an official 501(c)3. Your money would have been spent more directly on those in need, without half the proceeds going to the American Red Cross's administrative overhead.

Terminal 5 actually rules if they get the sound right. Dinosaur Jr and Meshuggah both had flawless sound quality there.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 11:53 AM

holy hyperbole, 11:26. apparently you've never been to a show in a makeshift venue.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 11:56 AM

^ actually, i RUN a makeshift venue, asshole.

Posted by 11:26 | November 6, 2012 12:14 PM

Remember when we thought they would play bigger venues after Merriweather? Guess they're not at Radio City/MSG level yet!

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 12:15 PM

Cool, guess it will be easy to get cheap tickets since everyone thinks it's gonna suck so much.

"Terminal 5 actually rules if they get the sound right. Dinosaur Jr and Meshuggah both had flawless sound quality there."

You are an extremely deaf and dumb person. Please never comment about sound in a venue again. What a fucking moron.

Flawless? LULZ, yeah and Olive Garden has THE best italian food in the world.

Terminal 5 has horrendous sound with acts involving electric amplification. it'd probably be a fine place to see a Dixieland band but for bands with instruments that plug in it's not up to professional standards soundwise.

There's actually one spot in the middle of the floor where sound is awesome. But it's only big enough for one person and I stand there every time. Sorry.

Also, to the guy that runs a makeshift venue; turning your shit up as high as possible before they melt, with no noticeable, competent mixing at all in a 100sqft room while some shitty pseudo post punk acts slam barre chords isn't really good sound either.

srsly y not radio city

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 1:36 PM

Hi 1:05 - luckily there's no chance that a shithead like yourself would come to my shows.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 1:49 PM

"srsly y not radio city"

Because Bowery Presents owns Terminal Sound and they can take home more loot by having a show there than Radio City which they have to pay to lease.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 1:51 PM

Grizzly Bear can play Radio City after a so-so album. Why can't AnCo?

Posted by Regular reader | November 6, 2012 1:52 PM

Hi 1:49. If it's in NYC and it's just your apt I've probably already been there and vowed never to go back unless it's absolutely necessary, so we're both lucky.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 1:59 PM

NOT just your apt I meant...

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 2:00 PM

doubtful.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 2:08 PM

From your pwecious wittle park in your sacred town, to your "favorite" venue in the "other" borough. This is awesome, LOL!

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 3:41 PM

you are some cynical miserable bastards. it's like you can't handle other peoples' success or their artistic breakthroughs so you just rip on it from afar. just blatant kneejerk reactions to anything that scares you because it may have actual artistic merit.

venue blows but ill make the second show

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 7:08 PM

12:30, were you at either of those shows (Meshuggah or Dinosaur Jr)? I've been to hundreds of shows over the years in a multitude of settings, and both of those shows had top notch sound quality.

Also, what the fuck difference does my opinion (about the sound quality at some venue) make to you? Get a fucking life. Why don't you use your time productively and start a band or something? Oh wait, it's because you're a talentless piece of shit who thinks that trolling BV and listening to "buzz" bands is praiseworthy. Oh well, there's always guitar hero, brah.

I can't vouch for Meshuggah, but Dino Jr. did sound really good at T5 (though the openers sounded godawful).

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 9:59 PM

Animal Collective was great the last time they were @ Terminal 5. Awesome Chocolate Girl! Sound was pretty good but it was Fucking loud on the Floor. My ears were ringing the next day. Make sure to bring some plugs.

Posted by Bruce Nigga | November 7, 2012 1:06 AM

aww man fucking weekdays? Lame.

Posted by KingTubwubwubwub | November 7, 2012 9:34 AM

from my experience the headliners at Terminal 5 generally sound stellar and the openers get absolutely hosed.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2012 10:41 AM

Well this is fucking bull shit, I still have no power since last monday and ticket master never bothered to send me a presale email. So the people this is supposedly going to benefit get fucking shut out, I'm not gonna bother at this point. Who wants to go to T5 on a weekday anyway.
