I really would like to say a few things about this video. Let me start off by stating that I do not dispute that this situation has become dire for many. And I do believe that the affected are still in the midsts of life threatening danger. However, making these challenges predominantly about race and income is an incredible simplification.

First off, Manhattan was able to get their power up and running so quickly due to the fact that the power grid is all underground. They did not have to deal with an endless amount of severed power lines.

Secondly, based on this video, people not familiar with the Rockaways would assume that the entire region is low income/minority. To the contrary, the Rockaway peninsula is home to many middle-class and even upper-middle class residents. All residents are experiencing the same lack of resources and attention, including the vast number of "first responders" that reside there.

The story is the same in a large part of Staten Island and both the coastlines of South Brooklyn and New Jersey. Understandably, frustration and fear are prevalent and being spouted by all affected. So, when you put a camera in one's face and ask leading questions, you've already answered them. And I think in this situation, simplification further complicates the herculean task ahead. If your assumptions were so cut and dry, we wouldn't be hearing about the same concerns of neglect from the Irish-Catholics of Breezy Point, the and Italian-Americans of Howard Beach and the Jersey Shore.

If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.

Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things.

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. You have got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what you are saying. Great job, indeed.
