Jack White @ Radio City Music Hall, 9/30/2012 (more by Greg Cristman)
Jack White

In addition to the Fleetwood Mac cover story (and Rumours cover CD that comes with it), the new issue of MOJO is the 2012 Year-End wrap-up with the best albums list which is topped by Jack White's Blunderbuss. Their list is definitely different than most, but also in line with the mag that puts the Beatles on the cover at least once a year. You can check out MOJO's Top 20 below.

Well, at least it's nice to see Lanegan's album there

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 12:32 PM

No Swans "The Seer" no care.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 12:32 PM

Tasteless wannabe taste-makers.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 12:35 PM

Prefer Uncut among the British mags.

Posted by drewo | November 26, 2012 12:41 PM

'wannabe taste-makers'

I don't think they're even trying to pretend they're taste-makers, seeing how most of this list is made of already famous mainstream artists and shitty newcomers that every other magazine is hyping too. 'Boring trend-followers' seems more accurate.

Posted by gnarko | November 26, 2012 12:44 PM

no fly lo no care

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 12:59 PM

Jack Whites record was boring as shit. This list is terrible.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 1:05 PM

This year was pretty weak overall when it came to new albums. I keep thinking M83 should be near the top of every list, only to remember that Hurry Up, We're Dreaming has been out for well over a year now.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 1:08 PM

The year hasn't been weak at all, there's been a ton of great music released. Maybe it has been weak for mainstream pop and rock but that's the case every year anyway.

Posted by gnarko | November 26, 2012 1:28 PM

This list needs more boring, unknown indie bands that we will never hear from again.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 1:40 PM

DR.JOHN's Locked Down is amazeballs

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 1:48 PM

There are 3 good albums on that list. If you disagree, you're wrong.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 1:54 PM

1:54 My pick: jack white, scott walker, and bob dylan

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:09 PM

Hot Chip should be higher

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:10 PM

I like Jack White but Blunderbuss was pretty boring.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:11 PM

1. El Camino came out in December 2011
2. Any 'Best-Of 2012' lists that omit any of the following are useless/should be questioned: Fiona Apple/IdlerWheel; Kendrick Lamar/GoodKidMaadCity

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:15 PM

I hope that was a joke 2:15

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:18 PM

Dexys Midnight Runners? Ok. I guess.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:19 PM

Certainly need Swans and Unsane.

I'm sure there are others . . .

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:19 PM

Any list that has Blunderbuss #1 is fine by me. Enough with that Pitchfork hipster bullshit that no one will care about in 2 years.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:42 PM

There are 3 good albums on that list. If you disagree, you're wrong.

Actually, you're wrong.
I liked:
Black Keys
Dr John (should be near the top)
Jack White (boring? not at all)
The xx
Mark Lanegan
Cat Power
Scott Walker

Hot Chip should be nowhere near that list. They are lightweight junk.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:45 PM

245 Once you mentioned the Black Keys and the XX, I stopped caring.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:51 PM

Orbital had an album? Whoa jus hearing that name gives me K-Hole flashbacks from 1992.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:52 PM

good call on mark lanegan

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 2:52 PM

Dexys Midnight Runners should be 1!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 3:08 PM

Hate on Blunderbuss all you want....that album ruled. And if there was a list for tour of the year then Jack White would be the whole top 5

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 3:20 PM

Yea 3:20 that first night at Radio City was epic.

Posted by Venkman | November 26, 2012 3:24 PM

A handful of these albums don't suck, but none of them are top 20 material.

Posted by gnarko | November 26, 2012 3:27 PM

No Tori Amos?

Posted by Blanche | November 26, 2012 4:42 PM

Venkman, that 45 minutes at Radio City was prob better than any other show you saw all year

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 4:48 PM

245 Once you mentioned the Black Keys and the XX, I stopped caring.

Please give us some of your choices!

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 4:57 PM

That Django Django record is pretty good.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 5:06 PM

"pretty good" has no place on a best-of list

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 5:17 PM

anon 2:42 & 3:20. You are both 100% correct.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 5:25 PM

I think MOJO is a British magazine and El Camino came out in the UK in 2012. Read a book god damn it!

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 5:36 PM

Where the hell is Nas? He made the album of the year.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 8:46 PM

"Venkman, that 45 minutes at Radio City was prob better than any other show you saw all year"

As much as I agree with you that Venkman is a complete loser idiot, I saw many better shows this year. For example. Jack White at Webster Hall before the album came out. Yeah much better than that big bullshit Radio City show Mr' Late to the Party. Next time be up on shit and maybe you can see greatness in a more intimate, better sounding place aka a much more intense show.

^ dumb as fuck right there

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2012 11:46 PM

What about Frohawk's album. It was so good.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:44 AM

Father John Misty

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 1:15 AM

I recently watched this movie after not seeing it since I was really little and had always thought she was blonde. All of the posters of her, all the disney merchandise, everything depicts her as blonde but when watching the movie it is quite clear that she has red hair. Not as red as Ariel but its still red. So why is Disney showing her as being a blonde, is it that they want a blonde princess because if so they already have Aurora. Thats so confusing, anyone have a reason for this?

Posted by tin shark disposable coffins | November 27, 2012 2:18 AM

no Fiona or Bob Mould

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 9:35 AM

Where is Fiona Apple's "Idler Wheel"??? Garbage's "Not Your Kind of People"?

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2012 7:50 AM

Fiona Apple? I think you mean "Fiona iPods." Diversity from album title to album title.

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2012 7:59 AM

Jack White made a Ten Best list for 2012 as well. It contained 4 records, and when asked why his Ten Best was six short he said it was all those damn photographers and everyone shouting for the next entry.

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2012 1:28 PM

^ that's some funny shit right there

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2012 4:34 PM

jack white is amazing.
