« Red Hook still needs help, residents without heat, businesses destroyed (though Sunny's is reopening) -- more pics & info | watch last night's entire Bad Brains tribute concert w/ John Joseph, Kyp Malone, Vernon Reid, and even H.R. (video) »

The G train is back, and the L is getting much closer. The MTA just announced that the subway tunnel "has been pumped dry." Don't believe it? Watch the video that accompanied their announcement, Bedford station shots included, below...

MTA Video Release: Canarsie Tube Signal and Track Recovery Operations
To quote Gothamist, "As you can see, things are far dryer down there than they were just two days ago. Right now what workers are doing (as you can see in the video) is checking to make sure that each and every bit of track and signal made it through the storm intact. Once all that has been done, the subways can run again (which should be soon!)."
Now hopefully the nor'easter doesn't fill it back up again!

Seriously, I've made my peace with the fact that I am going to have to ride the M train all week.
What I am annoyed about is that the MTA has made no indication when the Battery Tunnel will re-open.
