Lincoln CK

As anyone could have guessed, comedic genius Louis CK's appearance on Saturday Night Live on Saturday night (11/3) was a success. If you missed it, make sure and check out some clips from the show below.

As you may have heard, Louis CK recently released a live set by Tig Notaro, and we're happy to report that you can catch Tig live in Brooklyn soon. Catch a live taping of her weekly podcast Professor Blastoff on November 17th at the Bell House in Brooklyn. The rare live taping promises "special guests" in addition to Notaro's co-hosts/regulars Kyle Dunnigan and David Huntsberger, and tickets are still available (though reportedly selling fast). The agoraphobic can catch up with previous episodes via the interweb.

Swing below for some great SNL videos..

This post has to be sarcastic. In what realm of bad comedy did Louis Ck kill the other night? It was painful and terrible. The monologue was recycled from his current shows and much less funny. The skits were a bore.

I love Louis but in no way shape or form was his appearance on SNL a success.

I thought the Lincoln sketch was creative. The last call one was shitty writing as usual, but Louis's performance was hilarious.

^^ so true. the show painful to watch!!!

I give Louis credit for leaving his comfort zone, but this episode really wasn't any better than any other in recent years. The skits were really dumb, the jokes were beaten lifeless through repetition, the commercial interruptions lasted forever (as usual) and he didn't really bring anything to the show. And neither did the writers. It was just blah. Although, that Aussie acting couple bit cracked me up.

he fucked up all his lines on perpose

The monologue was pretty bad. It felt like some recycled comedy routine. Other bits were funny. The opening bit was great.

I fell asleep during fun.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2012 4:35 PM

The monologue was taken from his current stand up routine. I heard most of that joke at Carolines.

you guys are seriously surprised (some of you sound outraged) that he used his current standup material? it's not like he was all "I am holding a peach!"

most hosts just do a stupid musical number. Louis was great, the writing as usual was bad, but there were good skits here and there.

Again. Everybody on here drilling their own personal glory hole in hopes that Louis C.K. pays it a visit.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2012 4:58 PM

The Lincoln thing is very very funny. The rest, ok.

I am a huge Louis fan, but I barely laughed the entire episode. His best stuff cant be said on NBC.

>The monologue was taken from his current stand up routine.<

OMG! And I bet fun's songs were on their album! Call the cops!

Some stuff missed, but a pretty good show on the whole.

I agree with the first comment. In what universe did he "kill" it? The episode was god awful, and Louis's involvement did little to change that, if anything. Big miss.

I love Louie...I also love the fact that I had no fucking idea he was on SNL....people still watch that shit? Wow.

Coincidentally enough, I watched that Abe Lincoln vampire killer movie last night, it was a blast. Presidents swinging axes is cool.

The Lincoln skit was neither funny or even clever but i completely understand how some simps on here would think it was. MAkes perfect sense when you read many of the comments on this blog

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2012 5:27 PM

Were you watching the same SNL as I was BV? I don't think so. "Died" rather than "Killed" I would have reported.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2012 5:34 PM

5:27, you haven't seen the Louie tv show, and you don't get the Lincoln sketch. Either that, or you have no idea what's funny and what's not.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2012 5:43 PM

Comedians are not funny. Comedy is boring.

I hate comedy
Sometimes I don't
I hate comedy

Like anyone that reads this site knows how to laugh.

...aaand the roflcopter makes a flyby at 8:42pm.....

Comedic Genius? Stop with the pot-smoking superlatives. He's not that funny. He's just older than he was when he WASN'T funny, that's what makes him seem amusing to people. People settle for shit nowadays, that's all.

Posted by The Intl | November 6, 2012 3:01 AM

I pray that 8:42 is really Louis

Posted by Doc Brown | November 6, 2012 8:17 AM

Show was pretty bad, other than a few moments.

This reminds me of when little children were swearing to me that Dane Cook was the FUNNIEST COMEDIAN EVA!!!! Then it turned out they were wrong. Now it's Louie's turn. What's wrong with you people?

Posted by Someone over 25 but under 30 | November 6, 2012 2:36 PM

The opening sketch, and Jason Sudeikis as Romney on the news were the hilites of the episode. Love you Louis, and I hope you got paid well for this, but it just wasn't great. Not your fault, surely.

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2012 3:01 PM

What's everyone's beef with Louis CK? Yeah the show sucked in general, but SNL sucks right? At least this had a few bits of Louis's humour that made it bearable to watch.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2012 4:23 AM

2:36- No one with a functioning brain ever said that about Dane Cook. You need to hang out with smarter people.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2012 2:23 PM

I love his hat and bread.
