jesus christ - it's been a fucking amazing year for music and THAT"S the list they manage to come up with?

Sheesh.

Alt-J are fucking awful.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 1:55 PM

#5 is great until you grow tired of it (approx. 3 weeks) - all the rest I was tired of on first listen.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 1:56 PM

Grimes for the win. Deserved.

Posted by Eduardo | November 19, 2012 1:56 PM

100% garbage list, none of those records belong in a top 50 let alone a top 10.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 1:56 PM

That list is an embarrassment.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 1:57 PM

how is anything great when grimes is on top

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 1:58 PM

I think that now is the time for people to post their Top Ten albums for 2011. Music needs to be subjected to a test of time, nobody can really judge the relative merits of albums that just came out a month or two ago.

how about craziest "artist" of the year:

DAWG POWER

all the way!!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 3:16 PM

LULZ@ feculent iPhone generation garbage records. We won't get anymore GREAT records until these kids start spending more time writing and recording than they do staring at their cell phones updating their Instagram. It's sad what's happened to music in the last ten years.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 3:17 PM

^ Dude, nobody cares about your opinion.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 3:35 PM

^ LULZ@ your band "recording" on an iPad.

:-(

(so sad)

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 4:02 PM

Sorry, I only listen to Pitchfork. I can't wait for them to tell me that Channel Orange is the best album of the year.

Posted by Venkman | November 19, 2012 4:04 PM

4:02 ftw. only you should have siad recording shit NO ONE WANTS TO LISTEN TO on an ipad.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 4:10 PM

I guess Radiohead didn't release anything this year? I thought the top spot was reserved for anything they release regardless of the quality.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 4:25 PM

If Grimes is #1, then that list is bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 4:51 PM

@4:04: Yeah, everyone knows Pitchfork loves black people. Placing Kanye's "Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" at #1 in 2010 was laughable.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 5:00 PM

SCOTT WALKER - BISH BOSCH

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 5:11 PM

Alrune Rod-Hej Du beats out anything on this list but it is not from this year.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 5:32 PM

I went to sleep, and when I woke up the entire country became faggots. Truly depressing.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 6:01 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 6:50 PM

The Beatles - "Get Yo Grandma Fucked"

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 8:27 PM

Bad Boy Chef's Billyburger Reunion and Hummus Compilation should be the one and only NUMBER ONE on all of your lists. Beyatchis.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2012 11:24 PM
