Soundgarden in Atlantic City in 2011 (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Soundgarden

As expected, Soundgarden's Irving Plaza show (11/13) went on sale today and sold right out. But if you weren't able to get tickets, you can catch the band when they return to NYC on their 2013 tour for shows at Hammerstein Ballroom on January 22 and 23. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday, November 16 at noon. All Soundgarden tour dates are listed below.

As mentioned, Chris Cornell plays a Hurricane Sandy Relief benefit at Bowery Ballroom on Monday (11/12) after Soundgarden play Live on Letterman and tickets for that show go on sale today (11/9) at 3 PM.

An updated list of Soundgarden dates and the new video for the single, "Been Away Too Long," from their new album, King Animal, are below.

I hate Irving Plaza when it's full. Hammerstein is cooler.

Hammerstein is HARDLY more intimate than Irving Plaza.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2012 1:05 PM

Irving Plaza sucks in general.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2012 1:06 PM

Actually Hammerstein is way bigger than Irving.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2012 1:06 PM

Irving Plaza only sucks when it's a sold out show.

Haha yeah I typed that in the wrong order. You know what I mean.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2012 1:09 PM

I don't mind Hammerstein, I don't really like Irving. Shit show when it's sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2012 1:42 PM

Some bitter peeps in here that they didn't get tickets to Irving.

Pretty laughable though to say Hammerstein will be the better show. Give me a fucking break.

they killed it at prudential last year, though the sound got a little spacey at times. hammerstein is a good fit for them. let's see what they charge for tix, tho. anything over $60 and they could go suck a dick.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2012 5:02 PM

$76.35 with ticketcockers rapacious fees. PASS. The prudential tix were $45 for nosebleeders.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2012 5:15 PM

lol tickets IMMEDIATELY on stubhub for triple digits.

Also, when Irving sells out, have fun breathing 115 degree sweat-air.

Who?

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2012 1:11 AM

scalpers selling tickets for $200.

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2012 9:19 AM

$65 is a little high for this band.

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2012 9:20 AM

$65 is a great price for this band.

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2012 8:40 PM

ZERO $ IS A GOOD PRICE $ DIS BAND

Posted by Balky | November 11, 2012 12:13 AM

" anything over $60 and they could go suck a dick." I'd gladly pay $100 to see them. Maybe it will be easier to get tix if the price is a little higher. As for the different venues, the IP show will probably be much shorter than the HB shows. I hope to be at both!

Very, very few bands are worth $70 + . Check the tickets - $65! Then the charges because you are not getting a ticket at the door.

If Soundgarden is one of your top 5 bands of all time, then I guess it's worth it.

I actually like quite a few songs by this band, mostly early in the career, but the new record has about 4 songs that are actually quite good.

Can not do $70 +. I prefer to save my money to see many more show of great smaller indie bands that are fresh a ]nd new. How may of these can I see for $70. Actually about 3 - 5.

There are some great bands out there despite the ones that get the most attention and make you think there is nothing. Gotta dig and stop being lazy and jaded.

"Very, very few bands are worth $70 + ." I guess that depends on how much money you make and can afford. Comparing Soundgarden to some new indie bands who may not even be around next year is comparing apples and oranges. I go see all kinds of music in all types of venues but there is nothing like a big show by a great band with tons of great songs you know by heart. I'd rather see Soundgarden than see ANY indie band. They will rock Hammerstein. Can't wait!
