« Desaparecidos announcing 2013 shows, including 1 in NYC w/ Joyce Manor and States & Kingdoms (dates) | Occupy Sandy documentary "guerilla movie premiere" tonight w/ secret musical guests; afterparty at Bell House »
by Bill Pearis

Some might say it's strange for a man to bare his soul the way I do on this album but I wanted to do something that exposed me for who I am even more so than anything I have done with The Drums ... I wanted to be as self-indulgent as possible with this album. This is pop done the way I think it should be done. - Jonny PierceSome might ask, "Um, isn't he basically the Drums anyway?" (smash-cut to Connor saying , "Hey!") but Jonny Pierce will release his self-indulgent solo album in 2013. He's just dropped the LP's first track, "I Didn't Realize," and it definitely has different instrumentation that what the song might have been if it'd been a Drums song. You can judge for yourself, the video for the song is below.

LOL, come on
these guys have had every hype machine imaginable behind them and they have barely caught on more than your average brooklyn lo-fi band whose audience consists entirely of their nyu classmates. maybe time to give it a rest on them?
