Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Angel Orensanz in 2009 (more by Chris Goldberg)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs

As mentioned, Yeah Yeah Yeahs will play a Hurricane Sandy Relief benefit at the very intimate Union Pool on December 8 with Higgins Waterproof Black Magic Band (aka Tunde Adebimpe from TVOTR, Alex Holden, Ryan Sawyer, and Josh Werner) and DJ Creep.

Tickets for the show go on sale today (11/27) at noon. Options include $75 tickets (with a complimentary Jameson cocktail) or $100 tickets (which includes a silkscreened poster designed by Tunde Adebimpe and a cocktail). All proceeds go to Waves for Water.

I'll be away that weekend so someone can have my ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 11:52 AM

That was a fucking joke.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:00 PM

Aaaaaaaaand they're gone.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:00 PM

GONE

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:00 PM

that lasted half a second

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:01 PM

it was sold out before it went on sale

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:01 PM

That was silly

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:01 PM

Wow...that was fast.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:02 PM

got 2. fuck you sandy!

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:02 PM

lol, i pressed add to cart before choosing a ticket amount.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:02 PM

it said sold out at 11:59

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:02 PM

11 am, not noon....

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:02 PM

that's a mistake - they went up at noon and sold out at noon

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:03 PM

Wow - worse than Ticketmaster

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:03 PM

$100 was already sold out, got 2 $75's. I would guess there were only a handful of tix available. And what was up with the 11am secret presale?

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:03 PM

At 12pm, I got right into all sold out. They kept the password at 11am a secret so all the press and friends could get easy access - and screw everyone else.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:05 PM

yeah, fuck them wanted their friends to pay money for a benefit show and see them play live! bands with friends, the worst.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:08 PM

got 2

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:08 PM

Guess I'll have to wait for a 2013 tour. RCMH again?

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:09 PM

Worse than Ticketmaster? The ticketing website didn't even crash.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:09 PM

12:08, then why even bother putting tickets up for sale?

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:09 PM

tix went on sale at 11:59

There was a presale w password - hence why the 25 $100 tix sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:12 PM

Guys, seriously, it is the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. Not worth all this effort.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:13 PM

This was silly. The YYYs should have simply called this what it was...a private fundraiser with their personal friends. There was really no need to even announce or advertise it other than to let the public know that they're playing a benefit show for a good cause. Ups the waning street cred.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:13 PM

I disagree. Love the YYY's.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:14 PM

meh, fuck it. it's gonna be a 30 minute set anyway. Time on the bill even says 7pm - 10pm. For 3 acts. YYY tour in 2013 so fuck you and fuck Sandy.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:15 PM

^ Well you are an idiot. My condolences

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:15 PM

ill take pics for you guys...

and compared to ticketmaster that was a cinch. sites that don't time out your f5 are much easier to deal with.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:16 PM

@12:13 I am not their friend but I did get 2. Its a popular band in a small venue of course most got shut out.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:17 PM

YYYs can play their entire discography in a 30 min set.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:19 PM

I have an extra and you have to walk in with me. I will be nice and won't charge you more than 300 for it.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:19 PM

the upside if you didn't get tix is that these guys were never terribly good, anyway

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:24 PM

off with their heads!

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 12:26 PM

WTFW?

Posted by Hemp Lords of Amherst | November 27, 2012 12:36 PM

Brown Toilet Tickets I'll gettttchoo!

Posted by zincink | November 27, 2012 12:58 PM

PW was nah nah nah

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 1:08 PM

Bv home of idiot trolls

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 1:18 PM

^ Yes especially ones who still think the YYY's are a band worth giving a shit about

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 1:43 PM

but why's there a neck pillow on stage?

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 1:54 PM

what'd you expect; union pool has a capacity of like 150 tops; probably only 75 or so for the concert area.

i don't get why big bands play extremely small venues for benefit shows and charge under $100. YYYs could charge $200+ for a venue 3x the size of this (like bowery ballroom or brooklyn bowl) and sell it out, thus pulling in 6x as much money for their cause.

this has happened before.

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 4:38 PM

YYY so 2005

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 5:03 PM

that neck pillow is actually attached to her head... i was at that show

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 5:56 PM

Seriously, what is Union Pool's capacity? Maybe 100?

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 11:55 PM

Seriously, how many people bang in those bathrooms every weekend? 200?

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2012 11:58 PM

a lot of cash for these tickets. I hope it was worth it.
