While TV sets were airing David Byrne & St. Vincent on the Colbert Report, Tom Tom Club teamed with HITS for a show last night at Brooklyn Bowl (11/1), a one-off date for the ex-Talking Heads rhythm section and married couple whose new EP, Downtown Rockers, is out now.

Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz, who have weathered a lot as NYers over the last 35 years or so, lead the crowd through Tom Tom Club favorites (including megahit "Genius of Love" and "Wordy Rappinghood") and even did a couple Talking Heads songs ("Psycho Killer" and Al Green's "Take Me to the River" which the Heads did on More Songs About Buildings and Food). More pics from Brooklyn Bowl, where Big Freedia also played since Sandy, are below, including one of the setlist.

On a slightly related note, I saw David Byrne in the audience at Brooklyn Bowl for Big Freedia Halloween night. He had a big smile on his face during that ass everywhere.

BV: Please post Andrew's pictures of that night.

I walked from the lower east side where I live just to take a break from the power outage and all the crap that came along with it, I'm glad I did it was a terrific show. Their new stuff it's actually great.

What's the need to comment on David Byrne?

No joke: the blonde singer who looks like Iggy used to be lead singer of the fake Shangri-Las, who used to play oldies shows claiming to be the real thing.
