relief efforts in Coney Island...
Coney Island

Head to and Occupy Sandy to find ways you can still help out in hurricane-ravaged Coney Island (one way is just to donate).

Watch an amazing time-lapse video, taken from an apartment window as water from the ocean started to cover cars in Coney Island during Sandy, below...

Hurricane Sandy Storm Surge Timelapse in Coney Island

Time lapse of the view outside my bedroom window in Coney Island on the night of October 29th, 2012.

It shows the rising flood water from Hurricane Sandy as it made landfall.

You can see many cars seeking shelter in the nearby parking lot which is higher above ground. But the water rose high enough to total all the vehicles you see in this video.

I suddenly remembered the music video of "Help is on the Way" of Rise Against. It is beautiful how people help each other in times of calamity like that.

Why didn't you evacuate?!?! You were supposed to evacuate. Selfish behavior is not appreciated.

It's sad when we are hit with great trials but one should rise and never lose hope. People help people!
