Hurricane Sandy relief benefits tonight include Chris Cornell‘s solo show tonight Bowery Ballroom (he plays with Soundgarden tomorrow and Live on Letterman tonight, the latter of which streams live on CBS and VEVO); the Jonathan Ames, Amy Sohn, Henry Alford and more will be at Union Hall for a night of “words music and comedy“; and MillionYoung and Cameron McGill at Pianos.

Tonight’s show at Public Assembly is an interesting one. The space used to be a mayonaise factory and two of the giant 20,000 gallong tanks remain perched in the ceiling of the main room. Tristan Perich, Lesley Flanigan, RAFT, and Ben Sisto will make music within those tanks with the audience below watching via projections. Should be quite a racket. The show is free, though a $5 donation is suggested. 8 PM, more info here.
